  • LOL dude you gotta teach me the madonna thing

  • do they have a quick connect in the back like the emgs?

  • @BrujoAsesino123 No, but they fit in any Seymour Duncan active pickup guitar. I was told it was easy to install. Plus the back plate has 2 batterry slots pop out to change batteries. No unscrewing necessary. That's why I went for this guitar because it was a great way to try active pickups.

  • Can these strings tune from 1/2 to drop A with everything in between?

  • @wwetnajeffhardy12345, I use them for D standard and Drop C, which I think they're perfect for. They can probably do 2 steps (C) down, but don't know how well that would go. Anything lower I wouldn't use them.

  • @wwetnajeffhardy12345

if you are going to use drop A better go witrh 13-60

  • @wwetnajeffhardy12345 I've played one tuned to G standard, brutal as fuck. It's a very strong pickup sound at lower tuning especially, with the jumper in.

  • sylosis!! xD <3

  • my ahb-3 sounds similar but with more definition to each string

  • @reticle36 Is it deeper and also higher pitched like the slipknot guy designed it to be?

  • 1:47 sounds like old in flames from lunar strain

  • men whats the name of that computer program???

  • is it neccesary to have an active guitar to get the blackout pickups? and also, do I need to change both pickups or can I change just the bridge?

  • @Torqueofficial, active guitar? What do you mean?

You CAN change just the bridge, but if you have 2 pickups it's recommended to change both so you don't have to deal with a wire mess.

  • @EnsiGeetard I have an ibanez 370dx, it has a neck pu, middle pu and a bridge pu... so I was wondering if I can just change the bridge pickup for a blackout. 'cause I want to get a more metal tone

  • @Torqueofficial, to be honest, I wouldn't change it if you already have passive pickups. If you want to change your sound, I'd rather save up for a nice kickass tube amp! :)

  • @Torqueofficial My neck thru Soloist sounds better with the blackout metal in the bridge, but I still have the stock single coil live wires installed. Live Wires were designed in 1986 to compete with EMG 81 and 85 pickups. There is a big difference between the blackout bridge and the old Live Wires. having a good amp is important, too, but you'll have to check your budget.

  • @Torqueofficial All guitars can use actives because everything that you need comes with the pickups. Your battery might bounce around in the space under the pickguard, but just attach it with tape or something. My USA Jackson came with older live wire actives, and the luthier I know simply put a Blackout where the old pickup was. My Jackson was stock except the back plate on the guitar had 2 built in slots for the batteries. Most people put the batteries in the control chamber.

  • 6:19 COB right? but wich one? * i forgot *

    btw nicenice ^^ sounds good

    x

  • ...なんでデジタルなんだよ!

  • Metallica

  • where did you get that guitar ive looked everywehre for one like that

  • @Starchild132, from Ishibashi Music in Japan a couple of years ago. They stopped making it so if you want one you'll have to find one used, but there's not many of them so good luck :(

  • @Starchild132 have you tried Jackson RR5? if your looking for looks, it looks pretty similar :D

  • @epicfailha yea there cool a ltittle pricey but cool, im not looking anymore i just got a 95 Jackson KE1 so im pretty happy

  • @Starchild132 sweet

  • haha i was just listening to sylosis when i decided to look up blackout pickups

  • so nice guitar but so bad tone:s check out Mitchd21 tone it's great: D

  • @kakkukaala, let me see YOU get a good tone using incredibly hot actives and a digital recording interface!

Ofc I know Mitch's tone, it's awesome, although a bit too middy :)

  • @EnsiGeetard I hear you. Damn these digital interfaces. At least they're clean (wires). You actually have a good tone though.

  • For the lead part which starts around 4:50 mark, are you playing the bridge or neck Blackout?

  • @disolitude, my guitar only has a bridge pickup :)

  • @EnsiGeetard

I see...thanks. Reason why I ask is because I have a Blackout bridge installed in my gitar and I am struggling to find a good lead tone. Its mindblowing for heavy riffs and low end notes but comes off really dry and sterile for high note solos. Good to know it can be done like you demonstrated there...

  • @disolitude, i'm glad I switched back to my passive HZ3 :)

The Blackout was way too powerfull, to "pushed" if you get me. Also what you said.

  • which tuning are u using here?

  • @xXMUurTXx, most probably D standard.

  • is it just that on its own? or any other pickups in the guitar?

  • how can i get one, or what do i need?

  • @MisticWays Try musicians friend or it's competitor American Music Supply. AMS. Or a guitar center store. You can request musician's friend to send monthly catalogs for free, just like AMS.

  • what does a GearBox do?

  • AND BODOM SMILE PRETTY WITH THE DEVIL THERE AT THE END. YOU ARE A FAGGOT.

  • TERAS BY SYLOSIS. THAT'S NOT COOL AT ALL CLAIMING TO HAVE WRITTEN THAT.

  • dude dont claim someone elses riff!!! this is a sylosis riff!!!

  • did u at some point played a game riff?

  • The first riff is Teras by Sylosis...effin amazing.

  • can i put seymour duncan blackouts in my guitar if it has two humbuckers and one single coil pickup in the middle and it still soud awosome?

  • @75rdc, probably, I don't know much about wiring but yeah it can be done :)

  • @75rdc you actually can't do that without it sounding like crap, it's either all active or all passive. but seymour duncan makes blackout single coils so if you get all 3 you're set

  • LUCK RUNS OUT

  • Thats actually without the jumper? (Lower output?)

  • @Xe0nLight, yes.

I couldn't really notice a difference. Maybe I suck at wiring, but yeah.

  • @EnsiGeetard I actually thought about getting a Jackson RR24, put some Blackouts, either AHB-1 or AHB-2. But if I got AHB-2 i would drill the guitar to make switch instead of jumper :)

  • niiice ^_^ I can hear your lamb of God-influenced style, it sounds rlly nice haha

  • is this the sd ahb-2 (blackout metal) or is it different

  • @Fear3001, I don't know all the model numbers and prefixes, but it should be the same, yes :)

  • nice dude, I've got an ESP SV i use for drop c and d-standard. Trying to decide between the beefy slinkys and the daddario medium top extra-heavy bottom - 11 14 19 32 44 56. Whatch ya think? Im currently using daddario 11-52 and they're not tight enough for me.

  • @asianaxeman, 11-56 seems perfect for Drop C. I haven't had the privliege to try them out, sorrily.

For D i'd go with 11-52 or 11-50, depending on your preference. But i'd definitely give that 11-56 a go for both.

  • holy shit!!!! 3:40-4:50

  • Oh my god you freak, it's ABBA, Your a nut!

  • That guitar is beautiful. That second last riff you were doin with that sorta sweep. I cant figure out what it is, and I know I know it! @#$% that pisses me off!

  • What was that riff you were playing @ 3:15

  • Thanks for the comments dude! Yeah the blackouts are good, but imo they produce a very un-natural tone, so I switched back to my HZ3. But I have a humming problem :(

The riff was just something random I came up with some days before. I think I have heard it before.

  • Im trying to decide... should I spend 200+ on pickups? Or just get another guitar all together..Im thinking jackson or esp..

  • Impressive! Not as good as you but I play produce more Industrial metal so it's not as technical. My blackouts are comming in the mail.

  • is tuning in drop C?

  • Nope, D standard if I remember correctly =)

  • @EnsiGeetard in my opinion, D standard is pretty much the universal metal tuning. around 30-50% of metal songs are played in D standard

  • Sylosis kicks ass, and so does your rig dude.

  • your right about them, they are crazy players and sound amazing.

  • very good sounds and great playing! how logh have you been playing the guitar?

  • About 4-5 years. :)

  • what the effects do you using? repply

  • Everything is in the description.

  • what the guitar do you using? jackson Randy Rhoads isnt?

  • whats the main difference between blackouts and blackouts metal?

  • I don't know the techniqal details on it, but metals are more suited for heavy gain etc.

I guess. Someone who knows please reply so this guy. :)

  • Is this with the jumper ON or OFF? I'm after building something out of the ordinary and this is going to be humbucker 3 of 4 if it's good enough.

    Do let me know mate.

    Cheers

  • It said in the beginning of the video. :)

  • I can't find an SAHB-2 Neck pickup, only bridge? But the SAHB1 is both avaiable in neck and bridge edition?

    Inform me? please? :P

  • my AHB-1 is available on neck position too...

  • fat people dont deserve nice gear.

  • Ok, and why is that? xd

  • How about FUCK you?

  • good metalica

  • SYLOSIS WOOW

  • Dude the Teras is way FAASTEERRRR but nice, nice

  • you give me hope...

  • nice madonna lol

  • Do you recommend the blackout? I want to buy an Alexi 200 but don't know if i should get an EMG81 or a Seymour Duncan Blackout =P

Is the black out metal different from the black out or is it the same thing???

By the way, your playing is GRATE! =]

  • Well, it's pretty good at riffs, sounds good, but it has this wah-ish feel to it. Probably cus it's active.

And AHB-1 and AHB-2, there's a new preamp and some other new cool shit.

But yeah it's a good pickup, but not quite my taste, i'm gonna get an active one. :)

    Thanks btw!

  • omg test 4 is fuckin sic man

  • Sylosis right?

  • Yeah it's them. Teras.

    hahaah nice tags :D

  • hey man thanks so much for this video helped me out a lot. have you tried the blackouts through a higher end tube amp? Keep shredding bro

  • Hey dude, no problem! Check out the video response, I made a second vid without the TubeScreamer pedal, so it sounds less wah'ish.

I've tried it on a Marshall DSL-100 (as seen in the live vids of my band), you can't judge it by the vid, but it sounded real nice and powerfull with that amp!

  • how much doest it cost?

  • I ordered it at Thomann for about 99 EUR.

  • Sweet playing dude! I FEEL LIKE KILLING BABIES NAO!

  • you should buy a dimarzio 500k push'pull pot which is only 14 dollars and wire it to the jumper, then you can have an onboard boost.

  • i fucking love ur playing style sounds like lamb of god/ bleeding through

  • man that sd fucking rocks

  • what tuning did you use?

  • D standard, DGCFAD :)

  • very fucking good tone man

it has a lot of middles right?

    is the bass TIGHT ENOUGH?

do you have a video WITH and WITHOUT the jumper?

    fucking hails from Brazil man

    JP

  • It has alot of mids yes, more than the AHB-1.

But I kinda had alot of mids on the EQ tho! I like that sound. Check the video response to hear a better tone, because in this vid there is this wah'ish effect, that is annoying.

No sorry I don't have a vid with the jumper. The only thing it does is add more gain really :)

    Thanks btw!

  • Those sound VASTLY better than EMGs.

Insane scoop sounded like crap, the rest was pretty good.

I think it would be better through a real amp.

    Good test.

  • sylosis - teras? =D

    æhæhæ, jeg husker den sangen

du spiller så bra D: !

    fixxa gitarn btw?

  • Yup!

    Takk:D

    Bare teipa den atm. :(

  • Have you played a guitar with regular Blackouts?

  • Yes I have. The RG Ninja.

    Why?

  • What kind of difference is there between the AHB1's and AHB2's? Much of a difference?

  • Well I haven't tested that RG on my own setup, so I really can't say.

But from what I've heard it has more output and more mids. A really tight, clear tone. As you can hear in the video.

  • sounds good but i prefer the invader =D nice tho

  • Great!
