i did notice mama patti's eyes at say 2:15ish in this sung. i think her look was like okay i dont know this so ima listen then sing after what i hear. so i dont think she knew the material(song) as it probably just was like sprung on them . however ms re(aretha) knew the song given that the movie was mostlike new so of course mama patti didnt know it and mama re did so thats all i can say i dont think it was anything health related.

Gaga was auto tuning her first album before she got some what vocal coach on her ass 3 mnths prior to her recording her 2nd album and she still sucks. Please make your comparisons elsewhere she is nowhere near the level of these amazing DIVAS. Her crazy outfits and stupid antics are wearing thin and already people are seeing through the crap. Patti doesn't even come close. She is not a great singer, she might have a great vocal ability but there is a big difference in a vocalist and a singer, and a singer is miles ahead of a vocalist.

There was controversy to this video. Aretha does not get along w/ Patti and Gladys. Gladys wrote in her book that she has always felt Aretha has always projected aloofness towards her. Patti has also expressed that Aretha had hurt her before. Listen to them try to all out sing each other. MEOW!!

@TheQueenAretha Actually Patti has stated that Aretha has been rude to her in the past. Read Soulful Divas by David Nathan. In the book, and in Ebony magazine Patti says that one night when they were at the same award show, Jerry Wexler announced that Patti LaBelle and Aretha would be both appearing at some Blues & Soul Festival. Aretha then proceeded to say to Jerry over the mike "I don't know nothing about me and no Patti LaBelle appearing together!" It hurt Patti's feelings.

@clgil77 If you watched the whole thing its funny how Aretha went straight commercial. She let Patti and Gladys sing their lungs out. Aretha was like I'm going house music and sell some records (even stopped Oprah at the end to make sure you knew that cut was on Greatest Hits). Why waste all that viewership on some petty rivalry...I'm the Queen biatchs I got the crown so I don't have to prove nuthin....just sell records so I can get that bank now.
