I've purchased this lesson on iTunes, and I was curious about the verse section in particular. Could you basically play the chords in any way as long as it sounds good? It seems that James does that live now, with arpeggios or strumming.

As long as the video posting clearly indicates it is a preview lesson (or an ad if you want to call it that) people can choose whether to watch it or not. That`s right - as much as I hate ads, there's no harm in a YouTube video being one as long as it's clearly labeled as such. No one need be inconvenienced or forced to watch it.

That being said, I watched this video because I want to learn the song, & it convinced me to buy the full lesson. Best 4 bucks I ever spent. It's clear & thorough.

I teach music at a studio and have many times look at some videos. Some good some bad. I am sure it could be a good business but I am not wired that way and my students see what is for free and not. they still come by the droves to get guitar lessons and other inst. from me. I do carry 2 degrees and have been doing this awhile. I just thought and think that video lessons are interesting. there is some guy out there he is good and funny and you learn. best of luck cyber people

@chevytruck1959 We just surveyed 15,000 customers and asked them to tell us how we're doing in comparison to personal instruction, "free" videos on the web, sheet music, schools, and teaching software. Early results are that our videos rank neck and neck with instructors - and above all other methods/tools - in terms of student's preference for learning. So, we believe our system is a companion to complement an instructor's own methods, as "homework" to complement sit-down sessions. Thoughts?

It is a PREVIEW folks...you will have to pay a whopping three dollars for the entire lesson... Rob Schumann is a better guitar player and teacher than any other you are likely to find on the internet. He taught rock guitar at AIM for several years. He is a degreed classical guitarist as well. You should check out some of his lessons before griping about a free preview. The dude rocks!

i got russell kunkel's video on studio drumming 101 for like 3.99 and it was 20 minutes. that information was worth MUCH more than just 3.99!!! great great great! thx ivideosongs!

I've bought a few of them, and they're very good lessons. They describe what is going on in terms of tone, structure, and show you how to play the song. I can't comment on all of them, but for the few that I bought, they were well worth it.

When we present a song and/or a certain artist or talent, and we need to pay them royalties or fees, we charge for the lessons. That's why there are previews for many of the lessons, rather than giving them for free.
