i wonder how well cooked it would be in the middle. If the megatator was frozen would it burn before it was finished. If it tastes like a raw potato i don't think anyone would eat it Most fries are frozen to preserve them for shipping.

I guess its healthier then regular fries cause its basically a rectagular Fried(baked) potatoe with no skin. Less oil and salt on it so its almost all potatoe.

i guess you could boil it first, then finish it off in the fryer to make it brown and crispy. that way you could still freeze it for shipping, like you say.

But there is still the problem of flavoring it all the way through... if you salted it on the outside, fine, but once you take a bit the inside is exposed and you have a big surface with no seasoning on it.

So the megatator would have to come with a dipping sauce?

The secret behind good restaurant fries is prebaking them then frying them. It gives it a nice fluffy interior with a crunch golden exterior. You could possibly soak the megatater in some brine to give it a bit of flavor. Fries generally aren't seasoned though, only "lightly" salted. They'd have to give you your own salt shaker.
