  • I think Portland is COOL...not weird.

  • Hey, see you soon Oregon, are there a lot of racists there? All right! Na if you think all blacks are criminals your ether a cop or a judge. Ha. No really, you make white not right. When you know it is.

  • APPARENTLY, you haven't seen female bonding at its BEST. -- ;)

  • Wait until we clean up the nigger mess in Portland. Gonna ship those lazy criminal niggers the fuck out of here one at a time.

  • 100x better if you listen without audio.

  • Johnny and the Chance of Rain Cafe! @ 01:08 love dynamo.

  • this looks like a very neat city to go to!

  • I had to pull my Knitted hat over my ears to be able to listen to this...

  • The narrators voice is completely weird yet strangely soothing

  • Trees... weird...

  • So your saying that beanies, trees, naked ladies, small businesses, and helping the community are weird? I think YOUR the weird one!!! :/

  • ive lived in portland all my life(im 10) and portland isnt weird. p.s get some water!

  • @ThePengy2000

portland is weird but thats what makes it awesome

  • Can't wait to move here in a couple of years from Naples, Florida :)

  • Hey projanitor idiot yoi should keep your idioctic language to yourself

  • Even if it is wierd that's good. Cos' it keeps out-of-state unwanted people away from beautiful Oregon!

  • are you eating fucking laffy taffy nigga?

  • @NanHuckRDH your right portland rocks! Westside suckas

  • WTF Portland is not like this any more

  • I;ve lived here for eight years, and this video is right on the money,,

    Loved it, and love Portlanders!

  • I live 6 miles from downtown Portland and have not been there for 7 years. weird? I don't know, unnecessary, yes.

  • her voice is so annoying

  • Watch out, Oregonians!!! The enviromentalists are hiding in portland!! Soon they will jump out and turn Oregon into California!!!!

  • @quantumcherrypopper You don't want that.. The good thing though is despite Oregon "being turned into California", it is not as multicultural and crime is not too high next to cities in California. I want some anti racist asshole telling me how Oakland or Sacramento is so much more wonderful than Portland because of the multiculturalism and diversity of those places or lack thereof of Portland.

  • @TheMeltinResponse What the FUCK are you trying to say? Speak slowly and clearly.

  • @quantumcherrypopper Read it again!

  • EVERYONE is different in Portland thats what makes it so great!

  • I love this video! Forgive me Portland for leaving too soon. I love Powells & the downtown library, lived at the old St. Francis Hotel

  • Portland isn't weird. I've lived here 34 years. Nothing you've listed is "weird". Other cities, like Austin, have the same slogan. It should be interpreted as a "support local business" sign.

  • GET A DRINK OF WATER \. Your dry mouth is making my ears burn! Portland rocks./

  • @NanHuckRDH omg! Foreal!! its gross'n me out!

  • @NanHuckRDH I almost pissed my pants when i read this comment. thanks.

  • I guess if you're weird, you don't notice the weird of Portland...I'm moving to Albany.

  • Portland has some weird stuff in the sky too. Check it out. Go Portland!

  • you can say it is wierd i have never been to one wow corny huh lol

  • you can say it is wierd

  • Portland is a nice place as it is, there's no need to peddle this forced, self-aware 'weirdness' that isn't even really weird.

  • How are any of these things 'weird?'

  • This was great, I'm so lucky!

  • Portland's a great place, but the hipsters, gutter punks, and the otherwise condescending/pretentious/rude people ruin the appeal for the city a bit.

  • I <3 and miss my home!

  • reason #6 - shrooms!

  • Yes, go away, there isn't anything here for those not from here.

  • What's Portland like. I'm in Vic, B.C. but would love to go to Port one day!

  • i'm from Oz and thinking of travelling to the states next year,, i thought New York ,,Chicago Grand canyon,,Yosemite ???but shit,, that candy house and Velveteria have made Portland a must see on the itinery!!

  • Cat Daddy Northwest. Cat Daddy all over Portland! Search it!

  • I live in PDX.......I want out! I live on the MAX line, and have had creeps/gangs hiding in my backyard 7x in the last year. It's sad because I have lived here my entire life, and there are parts that I will miss, but I want to live in a safer place.......I visit Spokane and Anaheim ALOT. Either of them will do. They both have a safe feeling, and the bus drivers are not afraid to throw foul mouthed druggies off the bus ( much UNlike Portland) ;-)

  • I'm from Portland and I moved to Phoenix there is a differents. But not much

  • @MrCommentTroll HAHAAHAHAHA~! OMG Adam :D

  • Very informative video. thank you

  • way to take a documentary of Portland Oregon. i live in clackamas, i don't like cities much.

  • Yep, they're Congressmen sexually assaults teenagers.

  • @falcondriver100 And hes such a fun loving guy!

  • Another sign is when they combined the sewer system with the rain runoff system leading backups downtown. When the problem needed to be fixed the next Mayor declared that all of the old sewer lines belonged to the building owners but gave them no easeway to fix the problem. The city would do the repairs and just bill the owners. Offload any costs onto the public and grab all of the revenue possible. Because it happens to individuals one at a time no one complains until its their turn.

  • I was convinced when the Mayor sided with a group of poop slinging naked protesters chanting, "We wear no fur but our own!" to help drive a 100+ year business out of town.

  • @capnsonedocrunch ..yeah it's weird!... they only give us oxygen.

  • The weirdness is to fend off all the LA and Seattle for even thinking about moving here. We dont like pretentious A-holes.

    Trees = Life

Small Business employee 80% the nations workforce

Tonalli's doughnuts blows Voodoo's out of the water

  • Drink some fucking water before you speak into a mic!!!!! It sounds like your lips are stuck to your teeth!! Unfuncking watchable with all the lip smackin'!!! Fuck yeah Portland is Weird and you are right up there with the rest of us here!

  • 6:45 Owmyyygaud.

  • I live in Oregon and it's not weird except a few people. Its a awesome place.

  • @flipshareboys You can find any type of person in Portland imo. It is not just weirdos at all or by any stretch. I like the idea of getting to know the true natives over all the richer transplants who come in and buy expensive condos though.

  • @JaneWonderfallss By have having the voice of a woman trying to sound manly?? lol... like a woman cop

  • You sound like a lesbian, you must love those naked lady parties huh?

  • i can't wait to go there! i've heard it's really nice. I live in nyc.. so i imagine anything is better.

  • "Portland is where young people move to retire". ( Portlandia Epis. 1) I was sold on moving here when I was on top of Mt. Tabor overlooking the city. You can really see how many trees are peppered through the city. The people can be precious and subtle in their shittiness. Their is a unique can do creativity, though. There is gorgeous architecture all throughout a very livable downtown. OH....the air is 33% irony.

  • C (what) 2 CONTINUE?

  • "Hippies don't die, they move to Oregon."

  • @Mjayne714 It seems true since it seemed like hippie nation in many places and seems to integrate fine into any "normal" society that does exist there. I'd much rather live in places like this than places flooded with illegal immigrants.

  • Naked lady partys what kinda part of portland were you in?

  • Being from Oregon (born and raised) I got a false sense of what most cities in the U.S. should be like. Meaning spoiled. I have also lived elsewhere and Portland is unbelievably clean (yes sterile) since the rain makes it clean. :P We could use some more sun and less Hipsters please! (as they come from the midwest) but overall it is very beautiful, especially in the summer! Such a feel of community with all the downtown events. Portland isn't too big and not too small!

  • I was born there too. I'm goin back to visit in like two weeks. It's been a couple years now and this video really made me wanna go to Voodoo.

  • I'm goin back to P Town in like two weeks. It's been a couple years now and this video really made me wanna go to Voodoo. West.

  • yeah I was born in Portland, and I do say so myself that it can be weird. If not go to voo doo dounuts to see an example.

  • yeah born here baby! and proud of it! BLAZERS!

  • eugenes cooler

  • i have lived in portland my whole life, and love it. always gonna be here. portland doesn't try to define any sort of "new age" style, we just like to live comfortably, take things slow, and have chill, relaxed lives. it's just what makes us comfortable :)

  • Nope it's just really really smug. It rains a lot, people are so New Age they are without reason or logic, and when the stop-light goes green, the people just sit there and ponder their entire lives until it's nearly time for red again, then they crawl across the intersection..

I've lived all over the USA and Portland has the dumbest most precious people anywhere!

They think they invented cool but any European city would show it a clean pair of heels!

  • I lived there for more than 25 years and yeahhhh I saw some pretty wierd stuff, but loved the cultural things there.

  • They just copied "Keep Austin Weird".

  • @5692873 Bullshit you idiot.

  • @brapboys503 haha are you serious well fuck you hipster faggot I suppose the first Starbucks was founded there too huh.

  • @5692873 Don't think so, But the first Dairy Queen was.

  • @brapboys503 Hmm well according to Wikipedia the first DQ opened in Joliet Illinois in 1940.

  • SHUT UP and know shit theres trees downtown thumbs up to keep this at the top

  • You sound like ellen DeGeneres .......

  • your voice sounds alot like someone i know.

  • Thank you for saying ORYGUN and not Or-Eh-Gone

  • Thanks oddly reluctant to speak lady person. I like Portland too. My daughter lives there and I always feel at home when I go, as long as it isn't painfully cold.

  • your voice is rough and tree bad

  • cool video!!!!!

  • dude. your laugh is really fucked up.

  • omg chilly mouth! AHH!!!!!

  • I'm not white and I LOVE me some Portland. Great weed too! If that makes me a hippie do be it. I'm professional hippie and damn proud! Lmfao!

  • Nothing wrong with being weird: ) Portland Fucking Oregon is the best city period. End of discussion!

  • I wanna go to Portland. Like real Bad!!!!

  • @lounu777 same here

  • Knit caps = beanies!

  • ..... I've lived in Portland my ENTIRE life..... I didn't know that it was weird to want to help homeless people... You learn something new every day!

  • portland is not wierd well the hats are but the trees are just for good air and evry thing you see there is not wierd

  • Comment removed

  • whats weirder is that portland stole their motto from austin texas.. thieves..

  • What I got from this video:

    1. It's a little cold

    2. Portland cares about the environment

    3. SOMEONE is a little bi-curious

    4. The people are pretty creative

    5. The people care about the less fortunate

  • I love how these all(mostly) white communities are so liberal and tolerant toward minorities (blacks) yet, if that were really the case why are these "tolerant preaching" whites living where they are, amongst other whites, and not living in LA, or Chicago or NY where most of the minorities are in large quantities???

  • @baglemonkey lol what do you mean, if you were a white tolerant liberal why would you want to live in LA Chicago or NYC?? hahaha

  • @baglemonkey it doesnt really work like that. You dont think, "i like black people so im going to to move to los angeles".

  • Did you notice the "keep portland weird" by voodoo donut? oh and trimet is now the #1 mass transit system in the u.s.

  • At 5:01 tasty black donut penis ftw!

  • 5:01 for a tasty black donut penis

  • Portland has creativity

  • YES YES YES

  • Ok listen chick.....if u think Portland's weird why did u move here. Also New York has small buisnesses too. Not just us

  • @LilMissBlockParty24 Portland imo is like a tiny NY in all the good ways and less density.

  • you calling me weird? why thank you!

  • hats because its fucking cold

  • trees give me wood

  • Comment removed

  • Portland is awesome!! Cool smart tolerant people all around they recycle You can breath here too without fear of getting cancer Lots of trees and flowers : ) Keep Portland weird!

  • 133 midwesterners bothered to watch this vid, already knowing they'd dislike it. sigh.

  • I love Portland. Best city on earth. My two favorite stores are Andy & Bax and Music Millenium and I have been to many voodoo rituals at voodoo doughnuts

  • so many white people wanting to be unique is all.

    i <3 OR

  • Portland allows me to be refreshingly weird, for when I head back to my town east of the Cascades, I need to revert back to conformity so I'm not so much an outcast.

  • Seriously people need too stop making it seem like portland is only a bunch of hippies and granolas.. We are not. Well... At least I'm not.

  • I love portland. I love the rain.

  • 5 sucky things about portland:

    1. constant rain (222 cloudy days a year)

    2. high unemployment

    3. homeless beggers

    4. endless downtown bikers

    5. retarded snow drivers

    6. MLS

    7. abundance of enviromentalists

  • I loooove your video! I live in L.A and yeah, all of what Portland has would be pretty weird here, nowadays is normal to be exploided, polute the earth, and buy at walmart, please keep it that way, portland is a gem!

  • when the hell did you go to Voodoo and theres no line out front?

  • I am moving to portland in three months.. and i cant wait!!!!!

  • 5:01 2nd from the bottom on the left the dessert looks just like a chocolate dick

  • Comment removed

  • @Revak21 It is a chololate dick. It's called the cock 'n' balls. Voodoo is the best doughnut place in the world. Oh, and it has a boston creme filling.

  • Ahhh ! I'm brazilian i wanna study there T.T in portland oregon ! :D but i don't know if houston is better lol !

  • @captainjotaro Houston is NOT better.

  • Trees and community are weird? Knitted caps are weird? Unique and eclectic businesses that you can find in many other places across the country are what make one specific city weird? I'm glad you like the place, but I think there are plenty of other things about Portland that you could find "weird."

  • Comment removed

  • Where the HELL are you from LADY!? This isn't weird. Gawd.

  • This is only making my love for Portland swell over. :) I love the narrator's voice. Especially when the candy cane lady says everything was her idea and the narrator says, "OH MY GOD!"

  • Portland has its own deal going on, it certainly isn't New York but it does have this kind of metro feel to it with eclectic undertones socially. Very laid back and alternative almost to a fault. I love Portland because it is certainly weird but a beautiful city!

  • @randallpaulcom I like the fact its not like NY, but also has similar things to do as a big city. It has that small city and big city feel to compliment it.

  • @DriveNstroll Agree totally No Portland for me is the most livable city in the US. I have worked all over the world and visited amazing cities but the charm of Portland is unique indeed. I can't really put my finger on it because I have only returned to Oregon a few years ago and it has changed immencely. For the better.

  • @randallpaulcom Yea and cost of living didn't go up much either since 2008. Thats amazing really. Imagine if it doesnt face major inflation like SF did and keeps getting better and better? They work to keep that place improving.

  • PORTLAND IS FULL OF INTOLERANT ASSHOLES!

  • @fdub253 Try South FL if you want some of the most intollerant assholes only people don't have the balls to tell you to your face.

  • PORTLAND SUCKS ASS!

  • My co-worker modified one to say: Keep Potland Wired

  • I'm from NYC and briefly visited the PAC NW area not too long ago... Portland really IS a great place, but I could see how someone of a more conservative stripe might not feel totally at home there. I thought the vibe was pretty inclusive and the city itself is gorgeous. I did see an INORDINATE amount of tattoos on people, but whatevz. If it didn't have such a high unemployment rate I would consider living there... I liked it MUCH better than I did Seattle which seemed super Vanilla to me.

  • @psalazar28 It's so rare to see people from the East Coast moving to the West coast.no offense, but I don't like the East coast at all.the West Coast is much more beautiful and greener than the East Coast and less crowded

  • Portland is Awesome and your video is cool! Good Job.

  • Portland, OR.

What can I say about it??

Well first off..I live 20 minutes away from there..and most people consider it weird..but quite frankly..people love it.

    I don't like cities..because I'm a country girl..but I love going to Portland..its sooo unique and full of art. :)

  • Your voice is weird

  • @DaDucks65 Portland is weird.

  • Let's break it down..... There can be good weird and bad weird. Somthing out of the usual can be awsome or negative. Portland is Weird in the most amazing sense of the word. You need to experience it for yourself to really know and you'll only truly appricate it if ur not a closed minded pric. That is all.

  • lol I live it PORTLAND AND IT ROCKS!

Woah, i didn't know that having a bunch of trees is weird!..... wow, are u serious? OUR TREES ROCK! that's why we're oregon. The green state

  • The hats aren't weird---they keep the rain off your head.

  • I'm so happy too. I thought "Is it wrong of me that I find this lady's voice incredibly annoying?" Then I scrolled down to the comments and saw I wasn't the only one. And I can hear the saliva in her mouth too. This clip seems interesting and I wanted to keep watching, but with the voice and the saliva sounds I just couldn't take it anymore.

  • I live in Portlaaaaaaaaaand, and I wanna move to NYC

  • Well you gave the answer away right at the beginning..

  • WTF!

  • Why don't I get to go to any naked lady party's? And we have knit hats cause it's friken cold. And what's wrong with trees?

  • I like portland. they understand they are a small town. and don't act like cities like seattle and atlanta. who think they are world class cities. that they are not.

  • @IMagnus123123123 small town? Portlands population is 20000 more tan seattles and 40000 more than atlantas. 30th most populated city in USA. I dont know how you could think its a small town.

  • @cris5949 That may be true but Portland metro is smaller than Seattle metro and much smaller than Atlanta metro.

  • The Cackle From HELL at 3:30

  • IT MEANS: Hipsters/liberals pride themselves on being antisocial, mean-spirited, and white malephobic. Try saying hello to someone in portland if you're a white man who shaves everyday. Those troll scowling a-holes will snub you every time. Us upwardly mobile males have had it "too easy too long". WEIRDOS GO HOME! WHEREVER YOU CAME FROM. TAKE PORTLAND BACK FROM THE HATERS/WEIRDOS. MAKE PORTLAND NORMAL AND FRIENDLY ONCE AGAIN! ( "Keep Vancouver Normal". They know what I'm talking about.)

  • i remember going to portland, it was the first time i've been to a big city. did you know they have a pot festival? they sing songs about pot and have booths where they sell shirts with pot leaves on them. i also saw an old guy in all black leather with freaky long hair walking down the street talking to himself. i nicknamed him bucky the vampire slayer. if you ever se him you'll think it too.

  • @doze99trax It's called Hempstalk and it's the only good thing about Portland.

  • I'd say so but in a good way

  • where else can you get a micro brew at a movie theater? ya Portland is more than a little weird but once youve lived there long enough everywhere else seems weird.

  • @pdxeddie1111 Theres microbrews in movie theatres? I didn't experience that.

  • @pdxeddie1111 - When I moved from Portland to Salt Lake City, Utah for four years, went to a place called Brewvies Cinema Pub.

  • Actually its really because of the cross-dressers and crazy random shit that happens. and weed. lots of good weed in Portland. - Born & raised.

  • Portland isnt wierd...

    1: Beanies are awesome

    2: I FUCKING LOVE TREES

    3: EVERYONE loves naked ladies

4: Voodoo donuts are the best in the world

    5: what was reason 5???

  • @cris5949 SO TRUE.

    WHY CAN'T STREAM TOGETHER THOUGHTS?

OR STOP EATING APPLES SAUCE FOR 7 GOD DAMNED MINUTES
