Ye, searched it up the giant is called Ymir and the gods killed him and then midgar (the world if i'm right was created and his blood are the sea's) Not sure is this is 100% accurate but anyhow ^_^

@Nythim yes that little guy's name is Ymir, he's the first "Jotun" Gods were born from his armpits then gods gained power and killed Ymir.They created the earth from his flesh,seas from his blood, rocks from his bones etc.

It's a song about the end of the world, it has to be as more intense as it can be; I think the growls and the symphonic choir underline the fury of the battle and Liv's voice gives emphasys to the cruelty of some scenes (e.g. Niðhöggr gnawing at the roots of the tree Yggdrasill or the wolf Fenrir getting free from the chains). So...w growls! xD
