  • and imports just don't only go straight, they like to turn too. americans can't do that very well... except for the corvette, that's it! try taking a mustang, firebird, or camaro into a touge. they'd wrap their heaps of shit around a tree so fast it'd be so cool to see.

    the bottom line is, these dinky 2 liter engines shouldn't be even able to keep up. but they do. that's so shameful for the domestic v8 owner. if you've got a v8, your shit better kill everything on the road.

  • just take a look at supra 2jz motors... they are dinky 3.0L engines compared to these montrous 5.7L+ american shit. but push just about the same power when equally maxed. that shouldn't be happening but it does. why? better VE!!!

    And the king of the road now being twin turbo gallardos. They're only 5.0L but have 40 valves. Add the forced induction and these american "big for nothing gas wasters" are pathetically primitive. Like 1960's 2 valve BS primitive!

  • HA. im a big evo guy... but put the same money pound for pound into these cars.. and the pushrod motor will eat the evo. the ls1 is one of the most potential filled motors EVER built.

  • LS1 should be better without being "pound for pound". It isn't! what many fail to see is that with newer technology, there is a "replacement for displacement". and that being better engine breathing or "volumetric efficiency". this is something that the imports do WAY better than the americans. imo, euro guys (specifically italians ie Ferrari) doing it best. these tuner 4 bangers make up some ground for their lack of displacement with things like vtec and being dohc. imo, a better motor!

  • okay maybe they breathe better but still the ls1 makes more power stock. even than the supra. theyre are more F body vehicles with pushrod motors boosted or not under the 10 sec 1/4 mile mark than any other vehicle on the planet. im not talking shit about evos or supras i love both but reality is a cam and head ls1 will crank out 400+. start playin with boost and your dohc is fucked.

    Imagine if honda came out with a V8 6.0L DOHC Vtec motor... The domestics wouldn't have anywhere to run. Just take a look at 1uzfe motors. 4.0L V8 48 valve engines that can be revved up to 9000rpm. that's what i call engineering! Not glorified 60's crap.

  • The ls6 was the best motor GM has ever made, not to mention the strongest. the LS motors have the BEST mod potential for power in my mind, it's costs more for us turbo cars to support the boost to make the power, either way they 4g63 and the LS1 are amazing in their own way.
