I understand it well enough, I've slaughtered my own food before. Not deer but lamb, I understand the culture more than enough to fucking say what I said. What I don't understand is why are they doing it this way? Same reason why I don't get all the inhumane and slow ways they kill other animals at slaugher houses. It's not even good for business in the sense that it takes longer to kill an animal inhumanely than it does to just shoot it in the head or cut it's throat. Why spend all this time? It's almost as if they get a kick out of being cruel.

The slaughter they're doing keeps the blood inside the body for later use. A common Mongolian method on sheep and goats likely formed when they had nothing to drain their blood into before it was put to use.

Clearly it's slow and horrifically agonising for the animal and is now not needed at all with so many humane options available for the slaughterers.

It's simply lazy, ignorant practise for those who continue to do it.

Yes, I have. I went to one in Washington and I've witnessed some of the most disgusting things in my life. Humans are just cruel. I don't see how anyone can do this.
