You fucking idiots. He's not lip synching. Hear the guitar solo and the part where his vocals cuts off early somewhere at the end. It's not fake. Pop acts do it all the time. If a rock band lip plays/synchs to their own recording, they might as well disband right away. I'm in a band I know.

He's singing live over a backing track. You can hear all the layered vocals and extra guitar parts. They aren't trying to fool anyone or cheat. This was just how TOTP was back then and bands had to do it if they wanted to sell any records.
Just because you are in a band doesn't make you an expert!
