I've seen pictures of dead women with intestines coming out of their vaginas because they lived in a male dominated theocracy that doesn't allow women to have safe abortions. I am extremely pro-life (the president of my university's pro-life group, actually) but I am very AGAINST showing pictures of aborted babies. If people want to look it up on their own time, let them do it, but I absolutely refuse to have any displays or posters on my campus that show aborted babies. I think that these pictures take away the dignity of the child, they only cause arguments and I would NEVER want my younger siblings to see these pictures.

ANSWER: Some people just can't support a newborn child, or child period. And rather than force that child to live under subpar conditions, put that burden on another family, or further drag our trouble government down to provide, some people decide to end it before it begins. Personally, I don't think it's noble or good; having to make that kind of decision leaves a permanent, traumatic scar on the parent(s). But fighting for a form of life you're not going to take care of is redundant.

I am extremely pro-life (the president of my university's pro-life group, actually) but I am very AGAINST showing pictures of aborted babies. If people want to look it up on their own time, let them do it, but I absolutely refuse to have any displays or posters on my campus that show aborted babies. I think that these pictures take away the dignity of the child, they only cause arguments and I would NEVER want my younger siblings to see these pictures.

@ryddelwearsahat Let me ask you something, is that a real picture of an abortion? Is that what abortion looks like, if so, why is it so 'offensive' to show the truth? Why are you getting defensive about it? Because you feel guilty for either the abortions you've had, or that you actually support that horrendous act. @777ChiRho Consider, lastly, that 99% of all abortions occur in the first trimester- you eat a pill, pass a clot like a period. There are, statistically speaking, very, VERY FEW late-term abortions, even though rare, are a lot, considering the #s, there are NOT that many. It's practicallly illegal, on top of the rarity. Instead of thinking selectively, and playing pretend, do ALL the math, and look at ALL of the sides and not just the ones you want to see or hear- it's a necessary thing.

ANSWER: Some people just can't support a newborn child, or child period. And rather than force that child to live under subpar conditions, put that burden on another family, or further drag our trouble government down to provide, some people decide to end it before it begins. Personally, I don't think it's noble or good; having to make that kind of decision leaves a permanent, traumatic scar on the parent(s). But fighting for a form of life you're not going to take care of is redundant.

She told me that to demonize him, and make herself noble I think. But I also think that she holds a lot of subconscious resentment toward me for altering her life. She is pro-choice, and we have debated the subject.

And I don't hold it against my dad, I understand why he went the way he did: he spend over two decades being a father and a husband, and the internet introduced him (far too late) to the debauched life of a bachelor in modern-day society. For Americans, it's bad because of today's economy; if you're not 100% sure you can a raise a child BY YOURSELF (let alone with a partner and family) while giving it sufficient love, care, and attention without losing your source of income... then do not have a baby! Took about 6 years to really come to grips with what seemed unbelievable. It takes a lot of input and careful consideration. There are heads on pikes to scare people away from the truth. Back in 2000 I knew that the housing bubble would be the last straw. Nothing happens by accident on that kind of scale. The US and EU is being killed.

And if they should be kept alive or allowed to die, that's a bit more complicated in my opinion. So sentience is not. I think that having the DNA composition of a human being that is held by a growing entity, (not a skin cell cameraperson), but this being is growing and working through its life cycle-the life cycle of a human being.
