  • Yuuck quite revolting. Gives one the heebie jeebies watching it. Wouldn't like to have one of these landing on me!

  • Killit Killit Killit Killit Killit Killit Killit Killit Killit Killit Killit Killit Killit Killit Killit Killit Killit Killit Killit Killit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh whats up with him? Looks like he cant move proper... did you "crushed" him or something like that? :(

I Think Insects are pretty cool and interesting! :)

Thanks for sharing this Vid.. like all your others.. one more beautyfull and interesting than the other

  • @Get0utOfTheMatrix This bug had spent the night out in the garage where it was pretty cold. Like most insects, they don't move very well until they warm up a bit, so it was the perfect time to get some great shots of him before he got too active -)

  • Wonderful close-up !!!!!!

  • It looks like a regular bug :/

  • If you enjoyed this watch Ted - Clark

  • Yup. That's one homely critter.

  • idk i seen some pretty ugly earwigs

  • @sanjurodog We've got those around here too - I had a zillion of them come to feast in my decomposing banana timelapse vid XD I guess there are a lot of close contenders for the ugliest bug title! :-)

  • @JcmdiStockFootage and silverfish man...those are... but, centipedes....they make me stand on the furniture. xD

  • @JcmdiStockFootage and idk, i think this bug is kinda, cute. it's head reminds me of a baby's head..."God, your baby is....so....cute!"

  • Wow! Some bug you got there! Does this bug have 2 heads by any chance JMC?

  • @BjavaBbotBme I'm pretty sure this guy only has one head - but that's definitely enough! XD Thanks for visiting :-)

  • I see that you say it's about 3 inches long, but it would help to have a form of reference beside him - perhaps a dollar bill! I'd also like to know where this bug is found since potatoes are grown almost all over the world. He's beautiful - thank you!

  • @onekinkstar This one is between 2 and 3 inches long... there are some other vids where I show it near my hand for scale (v=kyDMkjB4PF0)... Apparently there are lots of species and they are known by many different names. Not why they're called "Potato Bugs" since I don't think they have much (if anything) to do with potatoes! XD

Thanks for visiting and happy new year! =)

  • @JCMDInature Thank you for the info. Happy New REAR!

  • wow, that is cool bug.

  • Incroyable.

  • Lol when ever the bug raises its arms it think it is just to funny, i keep imagining it saying "Hear me roar. RRRAAAAAWWWWWWRRRRRR!"

  • @white348711 I thought that was pretty funny too XD Thanks a bunch for stopping by! :-)

  • Quite a fascinating creature, really.

  • what a wata!!!amazing!!:))

  • you should have used the song "Potato Bug" by parry gripp...

  • The Potato Bug or Jerusalem Cricket (Stenopelmatus fuscus) is an insect of a masterful design. It is a specialized creation to feed primarily on dead organic matter but can also eat other insects. Their ingenious foot design is used for burrowing beneath moist soil to feed on decaying plant roots and tubers. We can learn a lot from these designs by our loving Creator

  • Looks like a juvenile stadium of a grasshopper, just after coming out of it's old "skin".

It's not ugly, it has a strange beauty.

  • I kinda like it. I mean, I really don't think it's as bad as a cockroach ;D

  • As with all of nature's experiments, it's remarkable.

  • the centipede.. is the ugliest bug...

  • it is cute!

  • Can't see the ugly! If anything, just different.

  • I bet that bug looks at us humans thinking 'wow those giants are ugly'

  • @callofdutyaddict1000 No doubt we're just as ugly and scary to them! XD Thanks a bunch for visiting!

  • i think its cute ^^

    You got my "Like" !

    ~LK~*

  • Impresionante!

    Gran video!

  • It is very ugly! Excellent sharpness of the camera. Observed all over the insect. My thumb is up!

  • I wouldn't say it's ugly, but it's creepy.

  • Wow!!! fascinating!!!

  • I do not think that a "Child of the Earh" is the ugliest insect, I mean what about a fat slimey grubb worm thats much worse to me. I live were the "Child of the Earth" is common and when mature actually have always thought them kinda cute. Oh well we each have our opinion. Love your work thanks for sharing :)

  • @OmahNeyTakaiya

I agree with you. I wouldn't call it ugly. It's really interesting to me. And I love the wonderful shots of this creature.

  • bear grylls would eat this :P

  • I think it is cute. But, even if I thought it was ugly, I would still love it because it is a living creature.

  • All God's creatures got a place in the choir - er, on the planet. Wish you had some shots of chiggers as I have a poem I want to do with a videoetry! Bet you could provide some catchy music, too!

  • It's not that ugly.

  • aka Mole Cricket.........

  • Yikes, creepy looking!

  • Lets smoke it.

  • That is a mole cricket . It is official.

  • These wee creatures are plentious in So. CA.

    Gaaa...they are creeepy!

  • Oh wow.... its not ugly :) lol

  • We always called these mole crickets, I haven't seen one in quite a while. Awesome macro video. They do get to a good size.

  • Looks like that is were the aliens got the idea for their faces.

  • Hahaa, great artwork! Thanks !!

  • i think he is awesome! as long as he isn't 6 feet tall..hee he. thanks for the close up so we can see his marvelous self. what a show!

  • Very beautiful

  • Insects are strange creatures. Reminds me of "Formicula" an old horror movie that I saw as a child.

  • Great 80's style video game music.

  • Very interesting close ups. I am impressed. As I said, I used to see them as a child.. they're less scary now. Wish I had been nicer to them early on..

We used to dig in the dirt all the time, building roads and forts sometimes all day.. so naturally we would run into these guys.. but my male friends would immediately kill them.. saying that they bite. I think it was because they were scared and these guys weren't butterflies. ;)

  • Amazing,great close up shots!!

  • she is beauty and waiting christmas ,.:o)) juu...juuu ♥♥

  • Man, that looks like my roommate!

  • Sehr schöne Aufnahmen, Daumen hoch. LG Hornissenpapst

  • I don't see anything close to ugli,, I see a baby queen ant or bee just out of the transformation stage, just like a baby to a man,, Ithink is peaceful and beautiful young life, ready to change de world,,like mostly insects do

  • really freaky

  • Great video~sharing with my friends btw~~I love your Aliens in my Orchids also

in Gratitude, in Peace with Love and Compassion~

  • It looks friendly...is it?

  • Agree, really freaky!

  • I really liked that!

  • Freaky for sure!

  • howdy! i think the world's ugliest bug is the bug, any bug, that lands on the end of your nose!

  • It looks kinda clumsy;) TFS

  • lol awww it looks like it just woke up from a nap

  • your camera is amazing!

interesting little bug... i've never seen that jaw structure before.. .or maybe i was just not very observant :P

  • That's a lazy bug!

  • I think it's cute.

If you want an ugly bug, try a cockroach.

  • I think it's a pretty little bug. :o)

  • I have to say that is the ugliest bug I've ever seen in person! LOL When I was a kid, we used to have to get these things out of the pool from time to time. I was so afraid of them! My sisters and I were convinced these things were from outer space and just might send us to the Twilight Zone or to the Outer Limits one day...hahahaha! Now I just see him for what he is, a bug that probably thinks we are from outer space...:-) AMAZING shots as always!

  • Great shots for sure. Does he jump or crawl only? Looks like he just had a meal, to me.

  • @2darbit He's pretty heavy and a bit clumsy too. He can crawl pretty fast, but is clearly designed for digging rather than climbing or jumping. It does look like he's been eating well though! XD

  • Wow ! Fantastic ! Thanks for the great work. This ugly bug seems to dance for you ;-)

  • @TheAelfymade Actually, he's "growling" (didn't make any sound though) at me as a sort of threat, and sometimes just making random tappings with his legs... I tried to time his movements with the music in editing so I'm glad you noticed =) Cheers!

  • It's beautiful!

  • What did you use to film it?? Looks great, and I would say ugly.

  • @etmax1 This was filmed with a Canon 5D Mk2 and an MP-E 65mm super macro lens for extreme close-ups =) Thanks for checking it out!

  • it's gross that for sure lol

  • Awesome Video!!! Super Interesting!! Sure it's ugly as hell!!! LOL

  • Looks like he us up in arms over this shoot! You will probably be getting a call from his agent and his attorney :-)

  • OMG is that a gerusilum ckricket XD

  • Isn't every insect the worlds ugliest insect?

  • Like a bug...well a ugly looking one

  • WOW nice footage my friend hey I think I know him...:)

  • humans are the worlds ugliest insects

  • Potato Bug? o_O

  • @J88Wolf Yes indeed - that's another one of its many names :-) Thanks for checking it out!

  • Helgermites are the ugliest. They're ugly at both ends.

  • The footage was incredible , but the bug is just plain UGLY :)

  • very cool and good video, super music ^^

  • awwww.. i think it's a little cutey

  • 1:17 RAWWR!!!!

  • there is no such thing as an ugly creature. <3 poor thing can barely crawl XD

  • I found one crawling in my bedroom about three days ago. Without doubt, they are UGLY! Actually disgusting. I had to coax him/her into a plastic pitcher.

  • Awesome :-)

  • ew

  • Wooooww! increíble.

  • It is an ugly lil critter. But, the roach is one heck of a nasty thing. Especially the Palmetto in Florida. Omg! They are huge and disgusting. They love to fly in your face. Even had it happen to me, when I was driving to work. lol Oh! But, please, do not make a video on them. Yuck!

  • You haven't seen me the morning after.

  • Nice closeup, that cameras great.

  • I have seem these insects around but never this close. When I see one again, I will know more about it. Sharp detail in your video. Thanks.

  • at 1:10 it looks pissed LOOL. But I don't think it's the WORLD'S UGLIEST INSECT.

  • @123silverradar Perhaps not, but he's definitely a top contender, imho, after all, ugly is in the in eye of the beholder! Thanks for watching :-)

  • "ugly" a word defined by humans.. it is ugly because it doesnt look like a supermodel? Isnt it enough that humans judge other humans with this word?..

Making a bug thinking he is ugly doesnt make you better. He is beautiful.

  • Cool :)

  • The way it moves around is cute, but the bug itself is fucking eww!

  • Yikes!

  • carinha de et!...

  • Its adorable!~

  • I never did get use to that bug they are strange for sure

  • Aww I think it's cute!

  • That is on butt fugly bugly.

  • Hey! Bugs are people too y'know.

  • its most beautiful bug i ever seen :] i just love it :)

  • *yikes!* lol

  • Look at it! It's horribly cute!

  • It is beautiful.

  • What was used to sedate the lovely thing?

  • @saxmanchiro He was just cold and a bit lethargic from waiting in the garage overnight for his morning film shoot... Now he's a star! =)

  • @jcmegabyte I did the same thing with a beautiful dragonfly last yr. On a cold morning, it was trying to warm up on my fence so I just walked up to it, gently picked it off the fence, placed it in a sandwich bag and took it into my bio class to share it under a stereoscope. I then put it in a petri dish to keep it from flying away. The students got to see it move it's wonderous huge-eyed head and mouth parts real up close. I kept it in the fridge until stage time.

  • ¡Gregorio en "La Metamorfosis" de Kafka!

  • Looks just like David Rockefeller=)

  • wonderful amazing nature

  • ughh bugs...it looks like a grasshopper...lol wonder what it's thinking.
