  • At the end of the day Natalie Maines can sing.Lets just listen to the music if you like them.Love you Dixie chicks

  • quería saber el nombre de la canción. Muchas gracias. Es maravillosa

  • One of the bashes delivered by the DC was toward Reba, a star if ever there was one, having conquered C&W, Television, and Broadway. And she did it without bashing a soul for attention. The DC's don't want to be in a CD player with Reba? LOL. Who would sully their Cd player with the DC's if they had Reba? You got your wish, girls. You are history.

  • Gone like farts in the wind.

  • @Therealmensa Reba McEntire sold a total of 20,000,000 albums in her first decade of being on a major label from 1980-1989 with 12 albums. the Dixie Chicks, from 1998-2000 (three years) sold 22,000,000 copies with only 2 albums. stings, dont it?

  • @TheAbattoirBlues Shania Twain sold that many.....of one album.

Garth Brooks originally planned 2 shows in LA Staples center in 2008, but had to add 3 more, all sold out the 20,000 seat capacity. He donated all proceeds to wildfire victims. In 2006, the DC's couldn't fill the lower seating arrangement (13,500) ONCE on their last tour.

Taylor Swift has sold the equivalent of the DC's entire career in total song sales, and she's just 22 yo.

    Stings, don't it.

  • @Therealmensa WOOOOO GO TAYLOR thats my gal

  • the grammys are all about giving credit where credit is due. only the creative artists get grammys. the chicks come out with stuff that sounds different than anything else you listen to. george strait, well, honestly he has the same voice/music as a dozen other country artists.

  • Comment removed

  • i find it funny that you criticise the chicks for winning grammys because you bad mouth the grammys for not being fan voted, then you criticise the chicks for not having as many grammys as alison krauss.

and btw, telling me that alison krauss has twice the amount of grammys as the chicks doesnt hurt my feelings. i LOVE alison krauss.

did you know alison krauss is the only female country singer to have more grammys than natalie maines? cool!

  • @TheAbattoirBlues You dumb fuck. YOU make a claim of greatness by using those measures, and when I prove they are lame, you come back like I am the one swapping horses. How idiotic. Grammys are no measure of talent. George Strait, the man many have called the King of Country and a living legend, has........ one. Garth Brooks? Take a guess, you ignorant ass-clown. You can't measure the DC's in any way and find they excelled except in being disingenuous and successfully killing their own career.

  • @Therealmensa dumb fuck? ignorant ass-clown? dickhead? chill, internet loser. i guarintee you wouldnt be saying that crap to me in person!

there you go again. you criticise the chicks for not having as many grammys as alison krauss, now your discrediting the grammys. the reason george strait only has one grammy is because he is coming out with the same unoriginal garbage which sounds the same as it did back in the 80's.

btw, i went under the name calfcreek4x12x08.

  • i come onto the internet, specifically youtube and debate as a hobby. youve tunred it into a career. good for you.

  • lets be thankful the grammy administration doesnt choose the "album of the year" award based on how many albums have been sold or else high school musical would have won in 2007. what a ridiculous "insult" towards them.

  • natalie has the most beautiful voice and can sing anything so wonderfully.

  • The shame of this situation is that two extremely talented sisters who, had they not been typical C&W "family first" girls, caught in contractual obligations to Sony, could have asked any of several excellent singers to join them after 2003 and today, they would be on top of the charts without all the controversy that came with Natalie Maines. Instead, Sony let them garner one last pop four years ago from agenda seekers. Until they let go of Maines, they will never be back.

  • @Therealmensa Given your post a year ago... I see where your perspective is. Thanks! Oh.. by the by.. When I see the word "mensa" I go to my spanish word meaning of it. Its perfect for you.

  • @doubleg137 Mancfan, how many profiles do you have? LOL. Given you're comments a year ago, I can understand why your channel is "unavailable". LOL. You're funny.

  • @Therealmensa have you forgotten about their participation on steve martins album, or their 2010 tour with the eagles? they've been back since taking the long way. your obsession towards trying to take down this hugely successful group has gotten so incredibly out of control. its unhealthy. sitting in front of the computer all day bitching out natalie is taking up too much of your time. try getting a hobby. btw, you didnt reply to my question. what is your job? try to give the same answer...

  • @TheAbattoirBlues A spokesman for the Eagles said they were playing to packed houses until they brought the DC's onboard. In fact, the crowds were smaller. Lets put your claims in perspective: The DC's collectively have 13 grammys, Alison Krauss' band has more, and she has almost twice as many herself. Shani Twain sold 2/3 of the total DC album sales....with one album. Every co-nominee for album of the year save one outsold the DC's in 2006, and have done so ever since.

  • @Therealmensa fyi, alison krauss and union station have won 13 grammys. the same as the chicks. you know who else won 13 grammys? the king of country music, johnny cash. and the director desperately wanted that song, "the lucky ones," to be a part of the film. calling it "an academy award kind of song." and youre forgetting that before natalie joined the group, the chicks were unheard of?

  • @TheAbattoirBlues The director was getting paid to put it in by the DCs. The studio found out he had circumvented even the music director with the song, and when the DC's showed up expecting to get paid, they got the boot.

Before Maines joined the group, they were opening for some of the biggest names in C&W, had completed one Japanese tour and were scheduled for another. Sony already had them slated as the launch group for a revived label and they ALREADY HAD A CONTRACTw/ them. Facts

  • Respond to this video... Alison Krauss alone has 26 grammys. More than TWICE as many as the DC's. On Grammydotcom, DC's are listed as only winning 12 (a correction). Bales, the bass player has 13. Don't know where you get your facts from or who taught you math.

  • @Therealmensa grammydotcom left of their 2006 grammy win, song of the year, which went to the chicks and dan wilson. therefore theyve won 13 grammys, genius.

  • Respond to this video... And just to ICE your claim about the lucky ones, the song didn't make the movie, now did it? Two other songs were produced by the DC's, but never performed publicly except in Australia. They had titles of upcoming movies too. The studio they tried to sneak into made sure they didn't pull that shit again. Thanks go to Weinstein, Kopple, and Rubin for helping fuck the DC's out of a future, but the real credit goes to Maines, a disingenuous, stupid girl.

  • @Therealmensa the controversy made the chicks more popular than ever. in fact, even after a 4 year hiatus, their album still sold over 500,000 copies its first week. yet there are artists like jack ingram, who has released 3 major label studio albums and has sold a combined 500,000 copies. your have absolutely NO credit. you and leonid3 said the chicks were broken up and done with, yet since saying that, they have returned on more than 1 occation. their worst selling studio album sold millions.

  • @TheAbattoirBlues 500,000 sold to people who, for the most part (check out the facts in RIAA's news at the time) had never bought a country album before, and will never again. The Chicks are gone, dickhead. You're posting on a video posted 4 years ago, and has the total view count that Shaytards gets within minutes of being posted. Which alt were you using last year? Mancfan? LOL.

  • @TheAbattoirBlues And they lost their entire original fan base that made them A-list entertainers in the first place. By way of their bashing, they also lost any support from any C&W entertainer that could have helped them get back. They screwed themselves with the movie industry by trying to sneak their songs onto the movies without talking to the studios first. They screwed themselves with TV when they hid the FUTK shirt until they were live during prime time. They were an EPIC FAIL.

  • @Therealmensa your arguments are getting weaker and weaker. truely. every country artist on the planet has a crappy 26,000 view count video on youtube. im sure lady gaga has one, too. and check out their official music videos here on youtube. almost all of them over 1 mil views. NRTMN had several million before sony took it away. it also had 4.5 stars. for pop (gaga and spears), they get 10s of millions of views. but country music doesnt. thats like comparing rap and bluegrass, its pointless.

  • @TheAbattoirBlues LOL. They are gone. Get used to it.

  • Respond to this video... The DC's didn't lose big time because they became opinionated, they lost because they were disingenuous on a subject millions were having to take deadly serious. Their pandering wasn't appreciated, and Maines admission that it wasn't a true sentiment made it all the worse. Renshaw lead them down a path of destruction, getting a final pop from latecomers who would buy the switch to freedom of speech as the issue. Hollywood theatrics. Nothing more. Epic Fail.

  • @Therealmensa since natalie joined the group, theyve won 10 cmas, 13 grammys (tied with the beatles and alison krauss and union station.), theyve sold 31,000,000 albums, their first headlining tour was a country music record breaker, they were nominated for entertainer of the year at the cmas with their debut album, and WON entertainer of the year with their second album. what natalie touches turns to gold. they lost most of their audience and no radio play, yet still made a huge comeback...

  • @TheAbattoirBlues What Natalie touches turns to gold? You DO know they got kicked off the lot for trying to sneak one of their last songs into a movie, don't you? They lost their ENTIRE original fan base, and proved it was a good move with everything Maines said or did since. No radio play? LOL. Even pop stations started playing their music after Maines popped off. Despite all the attention, their 2006 propagandized "return" flopped within two months of their last release.

  • 25 years later, Sony took a similar formula to make money with another Texas girl. A marginal singer with connections, Sony placed her with two extremely talented but conventional C&W artists who were already opening for the biggest names in the business. Over two years, they improved her voice and taught her basic guitar. Sony recruited several songwriters and professional musicians to create albums with these three girls as front women. Trailer trash Nat overcame all this help to fail them.

  • @Therealmensa several years of badmouthing natalie on youtube. what have you gotten out of it? please answer this question.

  • @TheAbattoirBlues Well, if you can color FACTS as badmouthing, then you've already lost the battle with logic. However, I'll answer; YOU and everyone who read my facts about the DC's could no longer support them without admitting your and their opinion is purely emotional based and disconnected from reality. I'll address your claims of three days ago to show you how disconnected you are.

  • In the 60's, a dirty haired girl got stoned enough to climb in front of a mic. She could carry a tune, and her gruff voice along with the stringy hair played well to stoners looking for the next extreme. She was always a rebel, and never really fit in. Columbia records was feeding off the hippies, so they cleaned up her voice on a couple of albums. She died at 27 from a heroin overdose. The album released posthumuously did better than any while she was alive on the "myth" built by columbia.

  • @Therealmensa This latecomer to the hippie scene was from Texas. Her mother said she always demanded special attention, even if it was for bad behavior. As a singer, Columbia had to over-dramatize her character, mix her voice heavily, and it took extreme publicity stunts to get her enough attention to sell the albums she sang on. She had a terrible voice, but Columbia sold an image to agenda seekers (hippies) that they bought. As a result, she is legendary, even tho she was marginally talented

  • Just proving your tone deaf

  • Sucks. Another cover tune by the DC's. Nat can't sing worth a shit, but you can't expect much from a trailer trash cow like her.

The sisters could have found a better singer than this, but I do believe they were looking to fail anyway.

  • @Therealmensa Just proving you're tone deaf
