The stupid idiot light came on in my 98 model and is still on. According to the code picked up from the reader; the passenger catalytic converter wasn't working properly. I spent over $200 for a new catalytic convertor. After I installed it and reset the idiot light, the damn thing came back on.

It ended up being the oxygen sensor that indicated the catalytic convertor was faulty, was faulty itself.

My point, don't take that check engine light to seriously.

Some pipe is way too lose. you might just have to tighten some screws. as for the lights, maybe take it for a diagnostic check...
