  • just saw you open for buckethead in philly! You completely blew me away man. The way you created all of those textures on the fly was like watching you create an orchestra at your fingertips, piece by piece. keep up the awesome work man.

  • saw you last night at the tla. sick music man.

  • Saw you tonight in Baltimore. One of the most amazing musical experiences ever. Thanks for sharing your talents.

  • Awesome, cant wait to see you play tomorrow at The Gothic with Buckethead.

  • Wolff - I just saw you on Saturday opening for Buckethead in San Diego. I'll see you again on the 16th in Anaheim. Awesome show!!

To anyone reading this - Youtube does not do this guy justice. The sound and the feeling you get when you're in the room while he's performing is amazing. And he definitely works hard through the entire set. The best part, is the reaction of the crowd when they find out Wolff is tuba player. Then he steps on stage and blows them away.

  • good god that was amazing

  • @michaelmumau1

    Thanks!

  • Haha! I quit the tuba cause it was so lame! I mean in the school band I wanted to be one of the bad ass drummers but got stuck with the hunka brass and pipes. Dude, for playing the tuba you must've had some major patience with such a heavy instrument which by the way WONT fit in a normal car trunk...And WONT fit in the seat of any school bus...

And for using it THIS Way dude you are INSANE. I've heard of people using the classic Guitar band, even Vocal play, and Cellos as a band...Tuba...Wow...

  • I plan on touring the states again come next fall so hopefully I'll be back there before too long. for now if you're ever in nyc I play just about every Friday night at a place called pianos. Also, hopefully there'll be lots of new videos up before too long...

  • @wolffandtuba hey Wolff, was turned on to your tunes after a friend saw you at Buckethead in Crested Butte and brought your CDs home, I would totally come see ya if you came through the area (and I knew about it... that part's key), so a tour sounds killer!

  • man....i saw you for the first time almost 2 years ago at the Asylum in Portland, Maine opening for Buckethead.....unreal man...i still come back and watch these vids...always will...ur awesome...come back up, can't wait to hear that magic live again

  • Yeah I saw him in buckethead too it was pretty good..

  • Awesome show at the Barrymore 9-17-09!!

  • I just saw him open for Buckethead tonight.. he was absolutely fantastic. The music he was able to create was unbelievable. I got to shake his hand afterword, and that was great. He's a great guy and an amazing musician. Keep up the awesome work!

  • Blew my mind in chicago the other night. Thanks for the video!

you'll be an opening for buckethead.

    i'll be front row

    :D

    see you there

  • Cool. Looking forward to Chicago!

  • you're a very busy dude with the new tour but i hope ya read this, you were amazing last night at the gothic here in colorado. i'de never seen anything like that. i really hope you go far, in some ways you impressed me more than buckethead.

please reach for the sky, not the brass ceiling. my freind got your cd and i can't wait to burn a copy if you dont mind.

  • I don't mind at all. That was my favorite show of this tour. Hopefully I'll be back this winter with my drummer. Go ahead and burn the disc as long as you come to the show next time!

  • of course :)

  • Hey any chance that you and Buckethead are going to swing down through Utah? Or are you going to get back with your band after the NYC date... if so can you give any inside info on Bucketheads upcoming plans, I went to his concert last year and it was AMAZING and I am sure you are too he always has very talented and original artists to open for him such as That1guy who has some similarities.

  • pretty cool stuff! =]

  • I saw you on the 31st of May when you opened up for Buckethead; what you do is pretty much the most inspiring thing I had seen in at least several months.....and it's all on the tuba. I hope to hear more of your work in the future.

  • kick ass!! good job man!

  • dude i love this song and i hate the fact that i cant hear ur full songs in good quality unless I buy ur CD but hey...wat the heck I guess its worth buying :)

  • The only way Wolff could be better is if he used a euphonium instead.

  • I saw you open for buckethead last night at B B Kings. Thats some incredible talent you got but your songs kinda sounded similar.

  • im 12 and what is this?

  • Saw you open for buckethead at higher ground. Not gonna lie, thats a good sound you got there.

  • Saw you open for Buckethead last night in Portland. Diggin the style man. Originality is key these days and you have it. Keep on Keepin On!

  • Saw you guys in pianos yesterday.... really great!! New sound.... like breath of fresh air!

  • this all from tuba! thats cool! : )

  • holy smokes dude,

I WANNA BE YOU WHEN I GROW UP!!!!

  • that was intense

  • wow... coolest of all tuba solos

  • Would you send me the notes to the bass line and the tuba melodies if i gave you my email?

  • I suppose I could probably scratch something out...

  • dude i fucken u =D ur are super awsome =D hope u the best of luck

  • This is fantastic!

    You are fantastic!

    Subscribed.

  • Is that a Conn 5J ?

    Regards, Phil (tubist since 1958)

  • Nice eye. It is indeed a Conn but It's a 4J.

  • where the hell did u get all that equipment??? i want that!

  • Well, I can tell you that I did not get it all in one place. Slow accumulation. That's the problem with going the effects route 'cause all that stuff breeds and multiplies. Actually took me a long time to narrow it all down to what I use now

  • Thats great. I see several black tapes on the tuba, are those several microphones ?

  • The Main mic is drilled into the mouthpiece. I have a contact mic on the bell which is taped down. The rest of the tape holds the thing together or keeps me from destroying the tuba too much...

  • Dude...thats awesome!

  • Skip the INTRO GOD DAMIT! START PLAYNING!

  • cool men

  • Cool stuff!

I always like seeing tuba players do new stuff like this.

  • amen

  • I love you.

    Do you love me?

    Y or N?

  • sweet!

  • monkey!

  • Great manipulation of sound. So often, these types of work tend to very very ordinary. This actually has some musical form. Good work!

  • I try veru hard to actually make songs out of the chaos of stuff...

  • ...and the Wolff shall inherit the earth...

  • hell yeah!

  • more tape = more better.

  • Not sure what that means...

  • Thats pretty cool, for a guy with no jump-shot.

  • whatever man. I'm all jumper...
