  • Its a shame there arent more videos showing the authentic methods...

  • That looks like a beautiful land, very green! I would love to be there, that woman must have very strong arms to handle the MANO DE METATE because I know it is very heavy! COULD you please do another video of the whole place? The kitchen, the animals, the trees and plants and how about the rest of the house?

  • una mujer cocinando :) ... no como los EE.UU. unde las mujeres no cocinan

  • Very good ! The best food is always that of the peasants.

  • Tor TEEEE ah !!!! I bet those are good !

  • lovely thanks

  • Que rico! :)

  • Awsome

  • good :)

  • what variety of corn is used to make the flour/? Is there a scientific name for the corn type?

    thanx

  • @flyin1984 Usually white corn is used, but they also use yellow, red or black (blue) corn. Corn is ready to be used when it gets dry and hard, the whole corn plant is dead by this time. Then what they do is wash and heat it in water (not boil) adding some lime (calcium oxide). When one takes the grains and rubbs with the tip of noe's fingers and a film comes off the grains, then it's ready? They let it cool and it's ready to be ground. Nowadays most people use mills, metates are fun but tiring!

  • I been in zacualtipan and let me tell you those tortillas are amazing also the wines/spirits/bread from tlahuelompa are the best.

  • Great video.I am a Mexica poet. I have written a poem about mother's making tortilla's just like you show it. I have a not for profit poetry webpage and would like to use 1 video for my poem. How do I get your permission to do this. Will send webpage address when you respond. Gracias.

  • What a nice authentic video of one of the oldest traditions in Mexico. Viva Mexico!!

  • Oh I bet those tortillas have so much flavor (like he says!) Que Rico! What is fantastic to me is the way she made it with the "METATL" is the same exact tool used in Mayan and Aztec civilizations. What I can never get the hang of is how she shapes it only with the hand, not needing a roller or tortilla press. Thats not easy folks.

  • a kind of intoxicating applause *_*

  • WOW thats old school right there I wanna try some of those they look so good

  • THANK YOU ,,YOUTUBE for allowing us to enjoy all these lovely videos....

  • So many traditions are lost today. It is nice to see the true traditional making. I would love to know the whole process up to this point as well. Would be good thing to teach the new generation and keep the traditions alive. Thank you for sharing this.
