Pfft. Up in Washington we have more active volcanoes thanks to reduced property taxes and income taxes! And because hippies sacrifice humans to them to scare away Satan, owls, and David Lynch! That is why the pirates avoid that land like the plague!

You know, I have a theory why Konami put a volcano in this game. First of all, it's not based off the movie, but it has it's own plot. Second, perhaps the creators didn't watch the movie, and figured that the whole thing took place on an island(with a name like Goon Docks, no wonder). Third, in that part of the world, islands sometimes have volcanos. Lastly, if they didn't put a volcano in the game, they'd be breaking one of the fundimental laws of adventure video games.

Well, technically there ARE volcanoes in Oregon... lots of them. None with lots of lava tubes like that though. lol NES games and their fire/lava area requirement

I always went the "wrong" way, doing the volcano fifth and the big attic / bogus basement area afterwards. Let me tell you, the volcano's a lot harder if you don't have the bulletproof vest. Also if you're still only in fourth grade and not good at video games.
