Alien 3 Soundtrack Mix: "Agnus Dei / Lento / End Credits"

Alien 3 was the 1st Alien Movie I seen and is still my favorite. I never got why people didn't like it. My only guess is it is completely different from the other 2 before it.

Goldenthal also got robbed for not even being nominated for an Oscar for his amazing work in Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, IMHO.

I love this film, especially after watching the even better Director's Cut or Special Edition, and the soundtrack is beyond amazing. Elliott Goldenthal should have won an Oscar for this film.

@KGV1374 True enough. The portion towards the end (9:33 and on) is so dramatic and moving that it makes all of the hairs on my head stand up (eyebrows, facial hair, and all).

Oddly, that's the only area where I get goosebumps when listening to this song, whereas Hans Zimmer's music mostly affects the hairs on my arms and legs.

@JaminKoehn Very odd. I too love Hans Zimmer's work, though it does not quite have the same effect on me as it does you. LOL! My favorite of his are Gladiator, Hannibal and the Thin Red Line, which are also awesome films.

i hate how people rip alien 3 just for the reason that they killed of newt and hicks, ok i'm really dissapointed by that to, something i always wondered is just why? why did they kill of hicks and newt? imagine this film with the 2 characters still alive, instead of just ripley.

aside from dat, i cn agree that this is the perfect end to the series,

@Anacondas101 It would have been a great end to the series. Instead, they had to end it on a sour note. I swear, Alien Resurrection should have been aborted, just like that human/alien half-breed that they had towards the end.

@JaminKoehn Alien 3 would have been a good send off for sure, Alien Resurrection was interesting though. It gets really weird after Ripley falls through the floor and meets the Alien Queen. I was like WTF? When Ripley kills the human looking Alien, I found that scene quite disturbing and kind of cruel. Anyway, Alien 3 is my second favorite and I am excited for the prequel Prometheus, which should be awesome with Scott at the helm.

alien 3 is great. great score and stylistically is a lot closer a sequel then Aliens IMO.

IMO, Alien 3 is a tad underrated. Well....I suppose it isn't so much underrated as it is unjustly disliked.

Plus, you gotta give it to Charles S. Dutton. Though I've only seen him in a few films, I liked him in all of them.

@JaminKoehn No shit, Alien 3 is truer to Scott's vision than Aliens, which was more like a Rambo movie. I can't wait for the prequel and I hope it's as awesome as The Thing prequel was.

Aliens was, definitively, a James Cameron film! Not in a bad way, of course; it was still a damned good movie, in its own right.

I don't see how people can hate any of the Alien movies...

I think they are all unique and brilliant in their own ways (Alien for being the original and having a very scary atmosphere, Aliens for bring action to the genre, but still retaining the element of fear from the first movie, Alien 3 for it's bold move to kill of the main character (even if Sigourney Weaver did want it to happen!) and Alien Resurrection for it's mix of black comedy and action, with occasional bits of fear thrown in).

I think that the score and movie itself is awesome people are sleep on alien 3, I think that parts 1,2,3 are the best forget ressurection. Can't wait for prometheus.

@geekodot I agree. Such an amazing cut of the film and probably closer to watch Fincher envisioned. IMHO, the Special Edition is the second best out of the series.

I like alien 3 the best because it rips the feeling of escape away from ripley and forces her to make the toughest choice. This is the best soundtrack of all four movies as well. Goldenthal has a true gift for music and emotional prowess in the scenes he writes music for.
