Brenda Dickson was the best ever Jill Foster Abbott. When Ms. Dickson returned to Y & R Jill became more of conniver & schemer. Her rivalry with Kay even got worse. As much as I like Jess Walton's Jill she doesn't even come close to Dickson's Jill.

Dear God these were the days (for all the shows) of GREAT storytelling that are so missing in today's shows which primarily are about hot young bodies rubbing against each other, and then someone getting into trouble because of it. That's about as deep as it gets today. The heart to these shows stop beating about a decade ago.

The katherine and jill wars were real. They portrayed real life, how people really are to each other, they're relationships. I think thats what made so many people watch the young and the restless.

I love these old scenes between Jeanne Cooper and Brenda Dickinson. Jess Walton is a good actress, but nobody plays the role of Jill Foster the way that Brenda Dickinson played it.

Brenda Dickson was good in first potrayal of Jill between 1973-1981, but became too flashy and arrogant in her second potrayal between 1983-1987.

@YoungandRestlessboy But it made sense that she would be arrogant because in her second protrayal she had money and social standing something she had craved all her life. So it made sense that she would flaunt it, especially around Kay. Dickson IS Jill. Jess Walton's Jill is a snoozer to me.

watching this today i understand why the young and the restless hooked me all those years ago........and how far it has dropped today.......it doesnt even seem like its the same soap. the first 20 years were the best, so dramatic.....interesting.....you really felt with the characters.
