It's funny pat is playing rush because I saw an interview with him and either mikey or matt, I think it was matt, and they said before weezer got signed they used to mess around and they all sounded like rush

@popomczowzow What you're thinking of is an interview with Mikey and Pat wherein Mikey says they've been jamming and Mikey was using a bass fuzz pedal and they were making Rush-like music.

Weezer writing/playing Rush-style music...I would love to see that.  They're all very good musicians but the style of music they play doesn't always allow them the opportunities to showcase the full range of their talents.

Haha... I've read that Pat was a big Rush fan growing up. But he actually wanted to be like Eddie Van Halen.

I saw Pat play the opening to "Subdivisions" on the Maladriot tour, in between songs. I figure I'm probably the only person there who knew what it was.

Patrick is cool. First time I have seen him play on a drum set that was larger than a 4 piece except on his electronic drum set that was in the video Dope Nose and his own electronic drum set seen in his video with his son Charlie.
