Great performance by tow acting giants. More over great direction and concept. uniquely Indian. All the father asks the son is, along with the persuit of his dreams, to do some good to the place where you grew up and the people who loved you and contributed towards your growth. Both have their point of views and such an original movie. Nothing is overdone. The velout is portraied so nicely, then lot of faction moveis came after its success with overdone dialogues and action sequences
hypocrisy on the dad's part though. when kid said "i might die emo?" he says "die". then he threatens his own kid with "i might die emo?" and weeps? i never noticed it when i first watched the movie, but now it hits me. haha ;)
@thelonedissenter : What hypocrisy are you talking abt!!?? You are getting confused dude. He is not afraid of dying. He imparts the same lesson to his son that birth n death is part n parcel of life, but what matters is what u do during your this period. The 2nd part you are referring to is just a father's desire to be close to his son when dying. He is not asking his son to run away from his responsibilities, infact he insists (while explaining what they are) in performing them.
I agree with you chaitux. One of the best scenes.
