  • GROG!! GROG!! GROG!!

  • Garudoh you're an absolute legend.

  • i have a poster of this hanging on my wall still after all these years. Great gaming days

  • if anyone was wondering both those white monkeys died of drug overdoses...the fame got to them they both fell down a spiral of drugs and prostitutes...monkey prostitutes

  • best game ever!!!!!!!!!!

  • agree :D

  • lol! Both them say, "BIg Whoop?" same time.. funny classics.

  • Even if lucasarts will make more adventure point-and-click games, only us "veterans" will truly appreciate it, face it today generations sucks, they are all a bunch of HD whores and halo-duty-warfare kids who thinks that if a game haven't got a marine with a shotgun then it sucks -_-

my cousin is 9 years old, i showed him all my monkey island games and he said they suck, i asked him why and he said it's boring, and that GTA, halo and Resident evil are better...jeez!

  • don't say he's just a kid, because when i was 8 i was playing monkey island 2 on windows95 and loved it.

  • 1. You should really beat up your little Cousing

    2. You know, tellale games is made by the former LucasArts Employees behind the classics, and they do make the good old point and klicks again (MI,S&M) and a lot of younger generations appreciate their work and follow the traces back to the Originals.

  • @BaCkuPFDTos lol!! man.. you're cousin sucks... my little brothers, 10, 12, 13 loves Monkey Island. They loev the jokes, scripts, and the difficult riddles.

  • Exactly. If a game doesn't have tons of guns, explosions, and a big, beefy soldier then most of today's "gamers" won't even consider it worth their time. Gone are the days when you actually had to THINK while playing a game. :[

  • @JrTruffle I see your argument and raise you a Braid (despite it having sold terribly :( ).

You can still look up to stuff like the Layton games, Phoenix Wrights, World of Goo. Ico and shadow of the colossus can help too, with a nice dose of katamari damacy, even if they're not adventure games.

  • @JrTruffle totally agree here. I'm lucky to have those games on PC, like Monkey Island, Full Throttle, Grim Fandango or Broken Sword. Those games were awesome.

  • The only thing that's different about today's game players is that there are way fewer masochists. Anyway, the SoMI HD re-release hit the 1 spot on Steam, it sold like a motherfucker.

  • LucasArts needs to continue making adventure games.

  • Finally, some classic, amazing tunes from one of the best games ever made. I could listen to these tunes over and over and over.

This list has an overabundance of crummy japanese games, even though some jewels from the Commodore64-era have completely been left out. Still, I like listening to the music on your collection, so kudos to you.

  • damn straight!!

  • what's the last one called ? from 8:12 to the end...

  • Well, i don't know the name of that song. But i know that it's playing in the end of the game, when credits are over and you get that screen saying: "Well, the game is over now and you should turn off your computer and ..."

  • it's also playing in the beginning when they sit by the campfire...

  • I think its called he Scabb Island song

  • The skeleton song is easy one of the best moments i ever had in a adventure game.

The timing is just perfect ^_^

  • This is still the best point & click game ever made... Indiana Jones: Fate of atlantis & The Dig also awesome games, still!

  • oo this remind me my old 486

  • hmm 6 1.44 disks, I think it came out around the same time sierra released KQ5, that was awesome time to play in, both giants at its best

  • this does sound very weird :D

  • This game is basically perfect. Easily one of Lucasarts' best, the best in the series, one of the best adventure games and my third favorite game of all time.

  • the best....simply the best

  • man lucasarts had good music.

  • Love this game although the sercret of monkey island was my favourite

  • The best Monkey Island game, although I did like the adlib midi better than the wavetable/soundfont for the music. With wavetable it seems to have extra notes where they don't belong.

  • I know, it kind of bugged me. It's all I could find considering my lazy searching skills, which I guess is better than nothing. :P

  • i will NEVER understand why Lucas Arts RUINED Monkey Island 1 and 2 by "updating" the soundtrack? I will never understand why the programmers thought this would enhance gameplay. I wouldn't care so much if I could get the original, bleeps and all, on a playable format.

It shouldn't be that big of a deal. But it is!

  • OMG is that why it sounds so weird? I swear the original sounded different?

  • If you played the very original 3' / 7' floppy disk game on the PC than this is definitely not the same soundtrack. I just found this video which has the original for MI1 - although the vid is of poor quality.

    watch?v=Zz5yzkpYCbc

  • This music is from the Amiga version. Classic tunes, no matter what platform :D

  • i think its the sound from the pc version. the amiga version sounds much better.

  • visa-versa

  • Ah, another example of something Lucas affiliated that was mutilated when somebody decided to "fix" something that people were already in love with.

  • MT-32 rules all ^_^
