@darazz25 A) In my nativeSuriname the "banded head" has to do with spirituality.I don;t know if it is documented ,but the ceremony surround the banded head is being done almost daily in suriname.It has to do with the real you,thus not the flesh ,which is the physical portrayer of "you"' ,but you as spirit.

@darazz25 B.After the ceremony you keep your band and if one day you feel sick or whatever(spiritually),or if live becomes hard you put it back on your head and ask for assistant(spiritually).
