How do people not understand that by saying it's a song for GOD, its also a song about Love. Inherently, this song is about love, for switchfoot it's love for GOD, and for other listeners it can be love for a person. Why keep up the pointless debate? It's not like by calling it a love song, you offend GOD, and by calling it a GOD song, you dont say its not a love song. Its not like anyone ever wrote a song for GOD thats a hate song. -__-

I posted on this video 3 months ago about my dad passing away, I didn't realize how many like and comments I had. You would be surprised how much support you lose after the first couple of weeks. This goes to show that even music for God can even be lovely for non-believers. Everytime I tell a friend I listen only to christian music I kno that gospel songs are going through theirs heads cause I give me the look like why would you only listen to that. But when l tell them about the different generes and how it almost sounds like the music they listen to only that its dedicated to God their like :o I love God!! :)

Do not Judge an entire Islamic Religion based on the Actions of the Worst. I could all Christians are Racist because the KKK is a Christian Group of People. Or I could say all Christians are Rapist because there are 300,000 Report cases of Children because Sexual Abused by their Catholic Priest. So don't Judge a Religion in One-Sided Manner like that because people could do the same to yours. Christianity isn't exactly Holy... if you Understand what I mean.

I'm Not Christian but I still Enjoy this Song.
The Brilliance of this Song is that it can be Whatever you want to be.
You can Interpret it as a Christian Song or Islamic.
Perhaps the Writers were Inspired by Christianity but I think even they knew what Inspires them is not the Same for Others, Music is Everyone.
They made a Song So Everyone can Listen to it, No matter who are or what you Believe in & that is the Beauty of this Song.

@ssohood2011 People may interpret as they want, but they didn't make a song "for anyone to listen to"; I'm sure that they would encourage anyone to listen of course, but Christian bands aren't about selling out or conforming to the world, or saying that you can interpret them how you want for fear that people will be offended if their music was written for Jesus, not worldly approval. They're about glorifying Jesus Christ through their music and drawing people to Him in the process. =)

This is the best song ever written. They played this song at all of the concerts I've been to, and you would not believe the reaction from the crowd. Anyways, this is a christian song. WRITTEN FOR GOD. I'm christian, and you can take this song any way you want to, but it's for GOD. If you guys are going to argue about who this song is written for, then you don't understand this song. I mean, its CALLED You're love is a song, and you should be arguing about it.

Not everyone is going to interpret the song the same way. To think that is ridiculous. If Jon wrote it for God, that's fantastic. But it can also be interpretated about his wife, which is what I actually think. And I am a believer in God. The song can be seen from different viewpoints. And it's a beautiful song regardless.
