WTF is wrong with Google?? eg. an image search on +desifans +"larry bird" yields dozens of sites with this crap and Google just stands by and lets it happen. Why isn't there a "flag" button on each search result?
Google has been getting increasingly nosy recently, asking for logins for more and more functions; it just asked me for my cell phone number for some "backup" BS. Why should we trust them with more personal information if they can't be bothered to get malware out of their results?
@lrd9999 What's more: these sites take over the browser even when displaying the image "hotlinked" through Google's result page. How sloppy do they have to be to let that happen? I've tried to find sites like this through Bing each time I found one via Google. Try as I might, I couldn't get Bing to display a malicious site. Say what you will about Microsoft; I've had plenty to say about them over the years, but Bing is at least trying to block this stuff.
It took me 3 days to get this removed. Although I feel I am the only 13 year old who managed to do so without malwarebytes or whatever?
I just removed Personal Security.exe from the files to the desktop. For some reason it allowed me to delete it completely then. Remove the %temp% files and any other related files and you're done!
ive had this before you can see it on some of my videos on my other channel collapsingdude4926 also in order to remove this download ad adware and do a scan
theres a much quicker way, just go on my computer disc OS (C:) then go on program files, then common files, then personal security and then it should say uninstall
@SuperAllenWest I've been able to kill the ones I've encountered so far, but I always leave the (XP) task manager opened on my taskbar. I right-click on the browser process (flock) and hit the "End Process Tree" button. It's fast, and going by the description, it seems more likely to kill all the programs started by this stuff than a simple "End Process".
I had this in October. So fricken Anoyying it deleted all my files. Got it deleted in safe mode with Malware Bytes Antimalware. it Rocks, i really recommend it!
my brother downloaded this crap. Its so annoying i was planning to spend money on it but i didn't as i knew it was all fake. This programme is such a good way to revenge on someone
Sorry to hear that. I would suggest that you ask your mom to immediately contact the bank that issued the card and dispute the charges, request them to not allow any further transaction and cancel the card. Your mom may also request them to issue a new card with a different number.
Everyone. Before you go erasing your hard drive, try running our computer in safe mode. While in safe mode personal security can't run. From there just delete it like you would for any other application. You can thank me later!
+1 allhmd22, I just cleaned a friend's machine that had this little bugger and I just went to safe mode and deleted the directory and all the registry entries. Followed up with MBAM and then added ThreatFire to prevent future infections. Done deal. There is a good utility called RKILL that will kill actively running malware processes too, which is good because I've had some that will disable installing anything like MBAM.
When I had this, I had to do a complete reinstall. Most sites tell you to download Malwarebytes to get rid of it, but this little bastard stops you from doing so. It removed all my desktop icons, slowed my computer down to almost a complete standstill and blocked access to all sites I tried to visit. Nasty.
If you read this justin, its annoying for you not to have a reply, Anyways- I had this today randomly showed up, Googled it found it was fake and aload of bullshizz so followed what people said how to get rid of this but guess what, IT Never. How did i get rid ? I restarted computer and hit the F8 key all the time and did the safe mode, and set my computer up 24hours back so i didnt have this installed. To do this just follow what it says in the little help box. Or message me
