  • That was a nice push jerk. Keep up the lifting and strength gains! Standing Military Press is all upper extremities not using lower extremities.

    Clean and press is you clean the weight and then press it with NO LEG DRIVE, i.e. this value is deffinetly less then ur bench press or incline press.

    I'm 5"5, 60kg, 19yo, been into power/olypmic lifting for 4months now. My best C&P is 50kg for 1rm, my best powerclean is 65kg (please note "powerclean" not a "full clean", you yanks seem to love getting the names mixed up)

    jcdu - doing the press seated takes away greatly the benefits...it's easier doign them seated, thats why you see lots of people doing them, just like how lots of people bench press instead of squat ;)

  • yea i would agree with that. alot of people would rather lay on their backs and bench then do a real lift like a squat. any way you can power clean 65 thats more that your body weight. good for you.

    Keep up pressing! You might wanna jus do push pressing without the jerk style push. But its personal preference. if your training for olympicl ifts carry on my friend!

  • First, that's not a military press, it's not even a press. It's some kind of bastard child between a push press and a jerk. Either way, significantly more weight can be lifted/pushed up this way than in an actual press.

    A strict military press is when you keep your heels together.

    Also, keep the back straight for the DL portion of the clean.
