  • When they'd do this at Gruene, the entire place would go apeshit when Lloyd would start the rumbling boxcars on the refrain (too bad this version is shortened).

  • you cut out more then half the song. way to go. to go back and try iy again

  • Joe Ely's band on Austin City Limits.

    Great band!

  • Absolutely the best way to hear this song. Nothing beats Lloyd Maines screaming on the pedal steel along with Jesse's guitar, and Ponty Bone on accordion. Best rock & roll show on the planet.

  • First time I saw them was at the Main Street Saloon with this lineup. LOL a half block from my dorm room

  • We used to go to Coldwater to see him in the late 70's-was so great!

  • OMG wonderful recording. This is how Joe looked when i first met him in '78 at the cotton cub in Lubbock. still a fantastic musicain and one handsome bugger! Thank you for sharing...

  • Oh yeah! Got an LP and dvd version both of Live Shots, saw Joe open for Tom Petty at OU in Norman, what a great band!

  • Ditto what delbertfreeb said... This is the classic Joe Ely lineup for me which I've seen many many times in the 80s. I miss this band, especially Jessie...

  • The classic Joe Ely line-up for me. Ponty Bone,Jesse Taylor and Lloyd Maines. Saw this line-up many times and they ALWAYS knocked me out. Thanks for posting this , you have made an old man very happy.

  • Oh, man! That lineup playing that song just kills me, and I've got two worn-out copies of "Live Shots" to prove it. Many, many thanks.
