When I hear the phrase that " people will hear the gospel, the good news that Jesus came to save them" I shiver...I have a very odd feeling that the true Lakota ways will be rubbed out finally for good by the invaders. No disrespect to good hearted people working to help others, but please leave them their way of prayer, their way of life. 1500 years not knowing christian doctrine... no problems...500 years with christian doctrin.... see my point?
I think you are right. I felt the same when I watched the video.
No disrespect intended either, but still I don´t see how this religious direction should help so much. Projects like the BaB are really a good idea I think, just the hope-and-help-promise through Christ makes me brood.
Actually on second watching, I think its not a good thing to say "Welcome to Bridger, the survivors of Wounded Knee".
"prayer" is not just a christian doctrine.... "sacred" has not been bought by the followers of jesus.... what these people need is for the help to be given without a payback of converting to being a "born again follower of jeezuz".
Give without asking for return (isn't that the christian way?)

Prayer is good, hope is good, but "religious dogma" is the same old US cavalry.
Is it possible to help a people and not influence their religious beliefs?
We are all related and we are all unique.
