  • Has this thing entered service yet? I still can't help think it looks fugly with all those cover open!

  • graham tomlinson cheif uk test pilot lol...

  • BULLSHIT!!! Chuck Norris is just blowing that thing to stay off the ground... Another American Propaganda....

  • Why isn't Walmart in the video?

  • AWESOME! NOW CLOSE THE GEAR AND WILL LOOK EVEN MORE BETTER!

  • is there any more videos?

  • Same jet from Live Free or Die Hard!

  • Unless it DOES go supersonic (it is supposed to, but there is no account for that yet) it is no different from British Harriers or Russian Yakovlevs.

  • @myudelson strike that, Yakovlev-141 was supersonic already

  • @myudelson just checked, Yakovlev 141 was supersonic already and it can take off vertically, which I gather F-35B doesn't.

  • Military industrial garbage. This will never see the light of day. No one knows what the next war will be like, and drones seem to be doing an excellent job. When World War I and II broke out, it took a few years before both sides knew what was needed to actually win the war. These things are just toys that are designed to fool the public into handing over their tax money to make Lockheed execs rich.

  • @interneti Well this keeps the public/congress happy, whilst they siphon off BILLIONS into black budget programs you will never ever hear about, unless you look up and happen to see a giant black triangle with no sound hovering over you. Tax dollars at work!!

  • @interneti Wow, so you just started college huh? That's cool.

  • @Lantcer01 Well, no bud, it's real world reality, you know, the one where you pay taxes, and want to know where your money is going? Well, this stuff is garbage. We keep preparing for World War III, and we have no idea how it's going to play out. The Military Industry plays on our fears, even when they know this thing will probably never be engaged in air to air combat!

  • @interneti AHH! The CORPORATIONS!!! Aren't you late for class?

  • @Lantcer01 Well, it's reality, and maybe when you start working and paying taxes, you'll come to the same conclusion that Dwight Eisenhower and I did. This thing is just an excuse to funnel government money to Lockheed. We have no idea if this thing will even work in battle. We found out the F-22 was slightly more of a diva than Paris Hilton in the hangar. This thing might get knocked out by a drone that costs 1/16th of what it costs. Get a PS3 if you want to go to war...I'll keep my tax money!

  • @interneti Like, we should totally form, like, this community bro. Where everyone just , like, helps each other... Yeah, like we could have this one guy, who like, bakes bread, and like this other guy, who like, protects people...

  • @Lantcer01 Wrong again, and I know where you're going. I'm not a fan of dumb hippies or eco-freaks, but I'm not a hillbilly rube either, which you seem to be. The United States can just end up like Greece I guess, or Italy, full of arrogant braggarts that will always talk about the old glory days and how we saved Europe from the Nazis, but can't even afford to buy guns or a warship. So keep supporting wasteful spending, it will come at the expense of our future defense.

  • Russian+American VTOL tech FTW

  • I'm a retard. Wow, that jet is hovering there with anti-gravity. I won't mind the noise or the garbage flying outward from the focal point of the downward jets.

    UFO!!!! UFO!!!!

  • We Brits have been doing that since the 1960s. i.e. 50 years ago. i.e. half a century ago. Yes, that plane in True Lies. Yup that one.

  • @exemmer ye, but that thing was all wobbly and kinda ugly too.

  • @exemmer

Don't forget the United States Marine Corp has operated the Harrier for decades now. McDonnell Douglas also played an important role in developing the later Harrier variants.

The F-35B is the successor to the Harrier, for your Royal Navy as well. Compared to the Harrier, the F-35 has stealth, supersonic speeds, a much more capable radar and sensor suite, and other improvements.

  • @ReconTeam111 Yea its basically the harrier with computer controlled VTOL, and stealth skin. No magic here.

  • @exemmer the Harrier wont break the sound barrier, nor does it have stealth technology... we win

  • Gee, I wonder where they got anit-gravity technology from.

    (UFOs)

  • @erichathy222 What is that

  • @erichathy222 Im sorry to inform you that our country has been lying to you about where your technoloy has come from, but not because its "Standard government classified information". But because if you knew the truth, you might not want to work on these F-35s anymore. Maybe you can find a clue to where they got the idea to make your propulsion device from redfieldTnT. No offense intended by the way.

  • @erichathy222 Yeah but who invented it? We have advanced as a human species more in the last 100 hundreds then in all of humanities existence, I hear it's because a lot of the technology was taken from star visiting craft's that were shot down by concentrated government "microwave weapons" of some sort. Have you heard any of this?

  • Not impressed, wuppee doo, The British Harrier was doing this decades ago.

  • This video has been entered into the 'Top 10 Technology Videos of the Week' battle at BattlingTube website.

  • UFO

  • Damn thats gotta be a nice feeling

  • but believe me, this ac is a FAIL!

  • I believe you...

  • beautiful airplane!!!!!!!!!

  • All we need to do now is figure how to make these into saucer shape.

  • That pilot is very very lucky

  • Sweet!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is the result of Obama's stalling funding for the military...

  • You should call yourselves the waracle this is coool.

  • My dad designed this plane.... It's totally legit

  • My dad could beat up your dad.

  • Interesting questions:

1.) Does the landing gear need to be out for this, or was that just a safety precaution?

2.) Do all the bits sticking away from the craft not totally ruin the radar stealth features?

  • 1) no and yes.

    2) no. Every angle and edge has more angles to minimize and reflect radar waves.

  • It only uses VTOL when its taking off or landing. It only takes off or lands in friendly territory, where it doesn't need to be stealth. Otherwise it is flying normally and all of the doors and gear are retracted=stealth.

  • Love it, now can someone make a decent documentary about the jsf already!

    please...

  • HARRIER STRIKE!!!

  • whats the big deal?, wait oh, i see its hovering for a minute i though the video was on pause,

-they should of just added helicopter spinners on it would of been cheaper

  • @frvfilms LOL, true true

  • what a waste of money, money that we do not have for education, health care, infrastructure...

  • @R4ndomCrap What do you mean how they blend the video? I see nothing fake in this whole video.

  • you are the one paying for this lmao

  • Well, if that is real, then they could take off like that. would only need a runway for landing probably.

  • How is an airplane that has the capability to serve in nearly every branch of the military not important. I'd say that's money well spent.

  • I agree, if america wants a strong military we have to pay for that. And having a strong military is a major reason why we are as powerful in the world as we are.

  • That's why they say millions for defense but not a single penny for tribute.

It should updated for today's economy billions for defense and not a single penny for tribute.

  • Dumbass. And they'd all be back in two months. IF that.

  • This reminds me of the C64 classic "Falcon Patrol" in so many ways. Even the sound is the same.

  • There is definitely something flying by. it could just be a plane that looks faster than we are used to but idk. right side of the screen at 14 seconds

  • @xXmodiPhoneXx

That's right, i have seen it to,

and i em sure that is not bug, it's to fast and is high on the skye.

  • So, this is what a boondoggle looks like.

  • It's good.

But I seem to think Hawker did something similar back in 1960.

  • HOW MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

  • How long can it maintain hovering? I know the Hurricane can't manage more that 90 seconds, just wondering...

  • @angelmassb

    So "quite" what?

    Quite elegant? Quite agile?

    Quite QUIET?

  • Guys, have anyone see something unusual at 14 sec time, there is one other lightning fast flying object, kid of UFO or wot!

I see no one mention that in here, but in video is evidence.

  • ufo sec 0:12

  • @a4ewer that'd be a bug flying by the camera... not a ufo wizzing through the air.

  • It was a bug flying by the camera. You can take off your tinfoil hat now.

  • @a4ewer thats because its just grass thats being blown past the camera...

  • must be one of those alien rocks

  • You mean that piece of gravel being flung across the asphalt due to the wind being shot staight down from the engine while maintaining enough combustion to keep the jet afloat?

    Yea, I saw that.

  • Indeed my friend ,it IS an UFO! Wat could it be?

  • It looks like a piece of straw, the same effect can be more clearly seen around 12 seconds.

  • OH SHI-

That just might be evidence of EXTRATERRESTRIAL terrestrial dust in the foreground! Or a zippy little insect that's often present in grasslands.

  • Ready to kill......

  • Ready to kill...

  • Listo para matar.

  • Sure took them a while to make a production model. The X model was shown doing this years ago. Does have some extra parts to it though and heard about some new helmet system that lets pilot see through the jet. Much as as I like the F-22 this thing is sounding more badass by the minute.

  • Great Video!

  • niiice

  • looks like reverse engineering those alien spacecrafts finally has yielded some results

  • @bosox2430 What? 40 year old VTOL technology?!..what a limited mind you have

  • @bosox2430 aliens have the noise factor on lockdown

  • Nice quality video, thanks.

  • There is no vertical take off version, it's short take off, vertical landing. (F-35B)

  • does anyone know what or why that thing behind the cockpit is open like that? it was for the STOVL one too

  • @leonscottkennedyre4 Lift fan air intake.

  • why would it be open on short take of too?

  • Any time they would want to use the lift fan, they would open it. They would use it on the short take off to add a vertical component I guess.

  • SWEET!!!
