ernestine is way up there for me..I saw her several times in the 80s great combination of jazz, blues and humanity wrapped in timber, color and all that sweet stuff..
ya, all shades all hues and thats just what she sang to all these Tunes that are mainly played as Instrumental pieces :Truly a Divine vocalist in all regards Thankyou Ernestine ;Killer...............................
I saw Ernestine perform in a tiny jazz/blues/folk club in Vancouver in 1962 or so. She was backed by bass, drums and a saxophonist named PJ Perry. It was one of the most amazing evenings of music in my life. They all just happened to be in the same space at the same time. Thanks for posting some of her music. Nothing could ever be better than Ernestine live though.
I truly enjoyed looking at this video and hearing Ernestine sing this song. I posted a video on youtube of "Lady Mem'fis" doing this song as a tribute to Miles. She told me that she was inspired by Ernestine Anderson many years ago to sing this song. Ernestine is a Great Legend. An inspiration to all.
Always been one of my favorite versions of this tune, thanks for posting!
