I'm talking about when it first started getting popular and people like borgore and skilled ruined the genre with mindless baselines that everyone refers to as "filth". But now people are loving this tune, which is true dubstep. Whereas only a few months back they would have hated this as it wasn't "filth" enough. Just trend followers. They've probably never heard of DMZ kryptic minds or anyone like that.

@lynxzrz you're talking about like.. 07 right? I remember those days too.. that's when I got into it as well. We can't front like OGs tho really because that was far from the beginning.. take it back to 03 or even as early as 99 and that's when dub was really just starting.

Personally I think the filth sound came out of the desire for progression at first.. then it got stuck in a rut around 09.. hence a lot more genre crossovers started as well. I've always liked aom

@CAPFKNREZ yeah man, I was getting into dubstep when the dnb hype came over in 07. i had heard sniplets of it before then as i was rocking out a bit of dance and old skool garage dj'ing as a teen. yeah the rut came man when people started to listen to dubstep during the day on radio 1. every since in for the skill skream remix, thats when it all went tits up. that was the last great commercial release before the "filth" came in. annie mac bashes out all kinds of rubbish now.
