They may be really good at remembering the details of certain things, but in other areas such as a basic conversation or something as simple as the date they will forget it. This same thing applies to an Ape, Apes may be not as smart as Humans in certain areas but instincts wise they dominate.
It is probably because chimps have simpler brain that acts more like a computer. A computer can do 2+3+5*8 much faster than a human, but people still know that human brain has much higher processing power, only that it is used to process less mathematical problems. An ape brain is probably more similar to a computer than a human brain is.

Brain of a human in front the monitor is probably thinking "okay, i will see the images, and try to remember where they are, what they are, and then, I will identify each number, put them in an increasing order, and then, click them in the right order, to finish this task."
