  • 8:11 LATFH.

  • Great performance!

    Bravo!

  • That is a real Post horn with valves. The original post horns were without valves, much like the cor de chasse. Post horns were originally used for what the name refers to...the post. It announced the arrival or departure of the post rider or mail coach. Used for this purpose primarily in the 18th and 19th century.

  • I think that was the worst possible splice going into the second part of the movement.

  • @Straichen Where would you prefer? -_-

  • @Tokkemon I agree it should be after the horn plays the F in the bar after the pause (the pause is the note cut in half >.<)

  • @Straichen agree with your comment is what i meant

  • What is that instrument at 6:30 ?

  • @choen96 An orchestra!

  • @choen96 A small posthorn by the looks of it, none of this Flugelhorn with Bernstein!

  • @pastrychef1985 in modern performance they substitute it with a trumpet played offstage, but the horn is definitely sound nicer =)

  • @choen96

    posthorn

  • "What the Animals in the Forest Tell Me" - an earlier 'name' for this movement by Mahler

  • @flowforms But I think I see a lot of performances using this "name"

  • too little rubato/expressions? @@
