  • "We always have to look for the good, no matter what, and trust in god"

I only discovered your videos on Youtube today, but there is always something optimistic or reassuring in them! rare in a survivalist video.

    You have the right attitude!

    Thanks for sharing!

    Thumbs up!!!

  • found a good tip the other day, anyone with a water heater has 40+gallon reserve

    of water

  • Grocery Outlet has a lot of good stock-up items.

They have Quaker quick oatmeal in 5 lb tough plastic bags.

Canned fruit in what I call generic brands (apricots, peaches) for only 69c.

5,10,20 lb bags of rice (even 10lb bags of basmati rice!)

  • Thanks for the link to the ammo place -- I have a 38 and it's been tough to find.

I love your videos by the way -- so down to earth, calm, cool, and collected.

But where is Maggie?? : )

  • you should get yourself a reloader some bullits powder and primers

  • Got all that stuff..I started reloading my duck loads a couple years ago..and got all the supplies for pistol and rifle loads a few months ago..real challenge to find the components..

  • Your a fount of information & a blessing to us out here. Thanks for the "Suze Orman" reference. I'm trying to look them up.

  • your vids get better and better, I am hooked.

  • how long does canned food last? does it last longer than the expiration data?

  • normally it does last longer I would give it on a safe side about 6 months more but google it and you would be surprised.

  • regarding water purification...

16 drops of bleach will make water safe to drink

if you let a clear container of water sit out in the sunlight for 2 days the UV rays will kill almost any bacteria

  • (16 drops per gallon)

  • great video, thanks for caring and sharing :)

  • Suze Orman is an f-n tool. And I say that with the utmost respect, or that which she deserves.

The only thing we "have" is God's grace. Everything else will pass away.

So we have all we need.......

  • I got a hoot out of her comments of how she agreed with everything the Govt was doing, to fix the economy, then turned around and gave advice on how people need to cut back and quit spending. The sheep ate it up. With a 70% consumer based economy we are doomed for sure. get your stuff NOW. There will soon be a rush not to be the last FOOL.

  • I agree. I also find Dave Ramsey to be a *bit* short-sided. He does a great job of triaging people's finances in what they should pay off first, etc. But he STILL thinks we are *just* in some sort of economic cycle and everything will be hunky dory next year. And his newest gimmick is to tell people "not to participate in the "recession"" Yeahhhh riiiiiight. Too bad he wasn't around back in the thirties to tell people not to participate in the depression.

  • Great vid, I to think TIME IS SHORT! God Bless, and thanks.

  • Outstanding commentary, as always.

Might I add... Any good personal food storage program should include a VERY complete spice kit (aka: food repair kit). Especially if your staples include bland foods like beans, rice, grains, etc.

  • when my grandma died we cleaned out her house and she must have had a 100 + old glass wine bottels flled with water in basement

  • Who is Oprah?

  • You haven't heard? She will be Obama's running mate in 2012...and Suze Orman will be Treasury secretary! lol

  • I can't believe you would allow regular TV in your house. My kids essentially don't even know what commercial TV is.

Good to see you're still around.

  • Hey Dave, welcome back.

I got a vid coming up for you soon...sorry in the process of mving a lot of stuff. Your book request. Once that's done I am posting it.

  • >Your book request. Once that's done I am posting it.

I've been looking forward to this.

  • Susie Orman is paid by FICA, the crooks that grade personal credit. I bet she gotta a big pay cut. Good point on the honey. Coffee rules. Dried beans tear me a new one.
