Actually soulrisk they couldnt take down the priest easily. That would leave them open to rapeage from the Sick dps that ele shaman have, you ALWAYS have 1 person lock down or CC the caster dps I.e. mage/spriest/oomkin/elesham and in some cases warlock.

The problem with shamans isn't their damage output. That is great. Its a lack of instant casts (shocks with 5s C/D is decent at best), and total inability to get away from melee. I know, I play an elemental sham.

I dont' think i need to say much more beyond yeah shamans have ES and Purge, but shamans don't have a "holy crap button" a shaman actually takes some form of skill. Resto shammy is usually considered the most viable for PvP. If you don't feel like being a pillar-humping healbot, then the difference between enhancement and elemental is mainly what playstyle you enjoy best-- melee or caster DPS. It also depends on your arena teammates-- enhancement shammies are great for melee 3's teams, and elemental is great for 5v5.

enhance isnt the greatest for PvP, they are good on some aspects, like enhance shammy can murder a disc priest!, but i would say elemental shaman is better all around, they have INSANE burst damage!
