  • Great video! Wood ducks are amazing, beautiful and delicious waterfowl. We harvest quite a bit of woodies down here.

Very nice footage! Thanks for sharing!

  • I saved and took care of a baby wood duck for about a week. Had to turn him i because it's protected here and requires a permit :( I miss her.

  • Ducks are the best animals there are ^^ <3 ducks

  • ok now you just need ones for mallards, pintails, canvasbacks, teals, widgeons... Good luck!

  • it makes me cry :(

  • I cried. So cute, thanks.

  • Good duck hunting those woodies

  • How can u tell the difference between woodduck ducklings and mallard ducklings???

  • @jakerichardson98

Wood ducklings are much smaller but physically look almost the same.

  • Do you have any tips for raising a wood duck? Yesterday I saved a wood duck hatchling from being run over on the road. I searched all over trying to find it's mother and was unable to do so. I even searched again today because I now know they don't nest on the ground, but still didnt find her. I bought some duck starter feed from the tractor supply, and a feed and water thing for the duck. Currently it is living in the spare bathroom bathtub, with towel, grass, a heat lamp.

  • @tabbikat86 (This is Whereducky under a different account)

Sounds like you have a great setup! I throw some mealworms and lettuce into their diet occasionally but the meal should be fine. Make sure it has a chance to swim now and then but doesn't stay wet until it has feathers. Luckily they grow quickly and are almost adult by 2 months. Hope your baby is doing ok!

  • OMG . Adorable !!!!! Definitivamente precioso video ' thnak u !!

  • very sweet...thank you for sharing.

  • ummm wood ducks are good to eat......

    Great video.

  • omfg! i love woodducks, lol

  • Aww so cute!!! I now know what to expect from my duck I'm gonna get :D

  • they are soooooo cute

  • Please let the ducklings first sight be their mother instead of human. Otherwise it will treat the human as their parents. You can test it. If you fly a light aircraft those ducks will fly with you.

  • This is sooooo amazing. Thank you so much for posting. I know it had to break your when you let them go.

  • thank you for this!! robin and linda have many more great songs-check them out. they are also very, very, very nice people!!!

  • I couldn't agree more. Robin and Linda Williams are a hidden gem. They are also about the most decent people you'll ever meet.

  • @FlippyAddiction If your not equipped to care for him properly why didnt you turn him over to someone who can?

  • help! a wild mama left one duckling behind. we are keeping it warm and it is alive. what do we do to keep it that way?

  • Did the ducklings know how to dive instinctively or is that a learned behavior?

I can't imagine a wood duck that doesn't spend half it's time under water...just curius.

  • 1:11 Aaaww!

  • I have raised mallard ducklings for 5 years now and have 4 juvies right now. But my neighboor kids found a wood duckling on the side of the road and brought it to me so now i have a wild wood duckling who doesnt like it when i pick him up till he is in my hand and sleeping lol. I got him a mallard duckling for a friend to keep him company today and they seem to really get along so far... lets hope for the best of Milo(wood duck) and Otis(mallard duck)

  • Wonderful video. Great job! A friend's parents found a baby Wood duck yesterday that's about a day old at the most. No sign of the 'family' so they brought it to us (we just raised some baby chickens). It is just toooooo cute and doing fine so far. Fingers crossed. :)

  • i can't get 1:( my dog is a lab and she RETRIEVES ducks... usually

  • Wow! I love woodducks! I rescued a baby one about two days old from the highway, but it was so traumatized it died in my hands a few days later, I really miss her! I almost cried.

  • Such a beautiful video ...good job.

  • I had mallard ducks and they looked just like that when they are babies! So next year we are gonna get wood ducks!!! well not just because they look alike but we wanna try something new!

I really want to raise ducks now.

    Thanks for posting!

  • every wild animals dream......sigh

  • What a beautiful little movie! Thanks for sharing your lovely ducklings!

  • Hi, I was wondering if you had or knew where I could get a male wood duck. I have a female who would be very happy.

  • Breeders and hatcheries often sell them to be kept domestically, though sometimes they require a permit. Depending on where you live, you can order them from companies like Stromberg's chicks and gamebirds, or mcMurray's. I'd recommend looking for breeders in your area. (Feed stores are often a good place to start looking.)

  • This is a sweet video, and I love the Robin and Linda Williams tune in the background.

  • does the duck think that you're his/her mom????

  • Yep! They return to the wild when they're about 2 months old though, when they would have left their real mom.

  • Beautiful.

  • Awesome people!

  • good job! ims o happy that some people are successful. i found some ducks nesting and i didnt remove it, but i helped it hatch 8 ducklings out of 9 eggs, but they all disappeared after one day. they were at a playground, and im pretty sure someone took the ducklings. =( the ducks sibling is having another nest of eggs right now, and i really hope that this duck will be successful. but good job on raising those adorable ducklings, and helping them grow up well. =]

  • I love this video. You did a great job! I incubated and raised wood ducks last year and whenever I miss them, I watch your video! Once again, great job!

  • Aw thanks, that means a lot to me. Congrats on your own ducklings! :)

  • Which album is this song on? Great video.

  • "Devil of a Dream." Thanks!

  • Great VId! How do you tell if it is a boy or a girl when it is a duckling?

  • I don't bother to sex them until they're about a month and a half old, when their plumage starts coming in. Females have more speckles and less white. Males get raspy voices while females are loud. Later the males get bright red eyes and start to change plumage colors (at about 3 months). Before that, it's difficult to tell. (Sorry I missed this comment before!) And thank you.

  • @Whereducky: Plus after raising a few broods you can start to tell before their plumage changes. For instance, when they're around the phase in minute 2:45 or so of your clip, I can tell the males from the females. The males start getting the white "chin strap" and their bills start to change colors just a little bit at the base, whereas the females don't get the chin strap, but start getting the white spots near their eyes. I think it is like you said, around 4-6 weeks old...

  • best clan ever imo

  • feed them dew worms

  • wut do you feed them?

  • sooooooo cute....

  • so cute! i' love it

  • Please help, I recently found a very young woodduck in our pond. In the woodduck box was 1 dead baby and 1 just hatched. we put them together and placed them under a light in a box. We could not get them to eat. the oldest died and the other one died 3 days later. I know there will be more situations in which we will find duck so could you let me in on your tricks. It broke my heart but I do feel if I had left them alone a predator would have taken their life. I love your video. Kackee

  • oh shut up who really cares what they did was perfectly fine... they did nothing wrong, they where trying to save some ducks.let me guess your a enviromentalist... people like you get on my nerves so much who cares what he did with the ducks.. so how do you like duck farms, they use those for eating!

  • I agree, some people are just plain dumb, or in-sufficently odd. They have the nerve to comment or tell people the wrong facts, or the non-truth.

  • Not true. Many people raise animals and then help them sucessfully become non-domestic.

  • Aww...what a wonderful video!

  • THIS VIDEO IS GREAT IMO

  • where could you get a pair of these?

  • Breeders and hatcheries often sell them to be kept domestically, though sometimes they require a permit. Depending on where you live, you can order them from companies like Stromberg's chicks and gamebirds.

  • Hey Robin.............remember "Vintage Brew"....I taught you a few of your early guitar licks.....Great song and video. You and Linda keep up the great work.

  • what temperature did you put the eggs in?

  • THIS IS JAHNAK LOL XDXD

  • That was an amazing video one of the best i have seen in a while!

  • i live in australia we don't woodies over but i'm geting some mandarin ducks witch are very close to them

  • This is really nice! Really well put together! I love woodies!

  • Good choice of music. I've seen Robin and Linda many times, including a week ago.

  • Why did you have to take the egg's out of the box and raise them?

  • Really cool :)Waaak waak waaaaa kwaaaak :D

  • =] Wow, cute ducks, Ive done near the same. but with average English Ducks. Ive made a few videos of them, but not as they grow up. "Honey and dave" look at my profile, ive made 6 films of them, they arnt as cute as yours. but they're just as special :D

  • Wow! Great video and that is a beautiful song. I'm glad you shared both of them.

  • cool

  • Aww they're so cute. :D

  • D'aww. How cute.

And dude, I missed out on seeing your duck babies ... AGAIN. Woez D:

  • Don't tell me this is ANOTHER account?? Whhhhhy?

Yeah . . . they're so cute. That's why I have 7 hours of footage to edit. You should actually come see them this time, genius. Aw, baby duckies.

  • Hi

The movie was great. We have 2 baby wood ducks that got seperated from their mother. Can you give us some hints on how to raise them. What to feed and any other tips would be most appreciated.

    Thanks
