I see his left middle finger is bandaged up good, read that he broke it in the film in an earlier scene. Must hurt like you would believe for Charlie,he still filmed. I think the scene here is funny :)
Love Charlie < IF you have some time check out my original song The LIttle Tramp.. My Tribute song to Charles Spencer Chaplin TTT from Austin Texas singer songwriter musician actress and film student at the University of Texas
Wrong, Carlos. Whoever got the coin was supposed to suicide-bomb Hynkel's palace, but Hannah gave them all coins just to show them that suicide bombing was not the answer.
otherwise written in this particular scene of the film, i feel the collective strong fear-more and more common-for the mcarthy era in the states[more or -atleast the same- than nazi] ........
You have to watch the movie to understand this scene. Whoever got the coin was supposed to go and protest against Hynkel. The woman put a coin on every cake because she knew that no one wanted to protest...
There's always food in his movies. I think it reflects the fact that in those times food wasn't something taken for granted. Many people died of hunger, in Europe and the US. Chaplin movies are historical as well as social commentaries.
i adore this part.. i love how like chester conklin (the guy on charlie's right) and the other 2 guys put theirs on charlie's and he has to eat all 3 and he hiccups and u hear the coins, omfg hilarious! i love this scene. and he spits them out and he puts them into his pocket xD

Have the Germans nowadays changed their way of thinking about theirselves or the others, whoever they are?
This is the question.
