aiya IBA so hot to wear in singapore, tried the other time for a parade really quite jialat since my batch all used to wearing LBV.

btw @ LokeWaiHoeSG i think during war time, there wouldn't be a belayer below... since his job is more or less to prevent the person repelling from falling...guards really should have a fast roping element taught to them... but apparantly its too dangerous for NSFs and only certain regular formed units in the SAF go through it in their course.

@teddybrawl The one on the right is the newer Integrated Body Armour (IBA). The one on the left is the older Load Bearing Vest (LBV). Prior to the introduction of the IBA, all soldiers were required to wear two vests: a bulletproof vest (not shown) plus the LBV. This was time consuming & heavy. With the IBA, a soldier now only needs one vest for his body armour & ammo pouches. It's only a little bit lighter but saves time & fits better. Hope this helps.

Seeing someone tensioning the rope below while the trainees were repelling at the top from the helicopter... I was wondering who will be doing the tensioning job during real war as the first batch of guardsmen doing repelling? The enemy?

I don't think there will be even time for you to do a repelling during a real war. Fast rope tactical insertion would be the ideal choice. You don't want your helicopter to be a sitting duck for an RPG.
