  • Have you noticed any changes in battery life (if you're on a MacBook lol)?

  • @MickiSel Actually I run the test off an external HD and my main OS is on an SSD so I wouldn't be the best to do that test. I bet when ArsTechnica gets a hold of the final version they will to their famous 10 page review they always do. Most likely they'll do battery tests if there's a big difference.

  • @Jasoco Okay, thanks :) I just think the battery life is more important than most things, if you're using a laptop. Anyways, great video :)

  • pirates of the caribbean music FTW!!!!

  • Hey I have a quick question... say a text document is 200KB and every time it makes another version, does it copy and save the differences between the changes? Or does it add another copy; +200~KB?

  • @satointl It only saves the Delta. i.e. the changes/differences between the files. Which is good.

  • I notice the control buttons are more square shaped, as opposed to them being a lot more rounded on the side in 10.6.

  • @GriffinRulesdotcom Yeah, they're now round rectangles instead of bubbly aqua bubbles. They really toned down the blue in Lion.

  • @Jasoco I also noticed that they didn't list that on Apple's "New Features" list. Full-screen chess can be interesting, though. I don't quite understand why they didn't have that from the start. Same with Safari.

  • More great footage of Mac OS X Lion.

  • Preview 3?..

  • Can you do a video on the newest Preview 3?

  • I think we deserve another preview now before the WWDC!

  • can you update the previews now that two updates have passed since you posted this? also, terribly miss the cool sliding effect when you switched to different things in system preferences (think "switching between screen saver and desktop")

  • @matthewmspace Apparently people didn't like the sliding. I don't know why. So they changed it. Though people don't like the skin in the new iCal and it still hasn't changed so who knows who Apple listens to.

  • I noticed that the Finder has much larger icons in the sidebar. Does it work like Tiger did when the icons would enlarge and shrink when the window size would change? That would be awesome I love that feature. I don't know why they ever changed it.

  • @kipvaughan You can choose between small, medium and large like in iTunes.

  • the signature thing is pretty cool :D

  • the music is so off putting

  • ok. music much better in this video ;) jack sparrow?

  • I noticed new icons for the boot menu. That's cool, I think.

  • I've always had an 8gb partition on my internal drive named the same as the Recovery DVD cloned directly from the DVD itself so this thing first showed is nothing more than just having that setup pre-built for you..

  • I love the back ground music!!!

  • The music made this even better than it already was. :)

  • kung fu hustle FTW! :)

  • Have you noticed any difference in mouse tracking speed in 10.7?

  • @jumpymouse Same as it's been since the Mac was created. Or at least OS X. What are you looking for? Something more like Windows? Because they do it differently. But if you need Windows type speed, a lot of third party mice, especially MS ones, will give you this kind of tracking.

  • @Jasoco Just adjust the speed in the mouse settings right?

  • Versions looks really cool! I hope Adobe integrates it! CS6?

  • @bratz2 I would have to wonder. Adobe still hasn't supported 4 year old features like quicklook and spaces or six year old features like automator (and yet they complain when Apple doesn't support Flash in iOS!)

  • Could you show something of the accessibility features? Zooming and voiceover?

  • @pumbaa1979 I think they're the same as in Snow Leopard and before. Except that Zooming now has an option to either smooth the screen or not.

  • @Jasoco zooming has that option on snow leopard as well option+command+\

  • Id like to see how switching from space to space plays with multiple monitors. Thanks for the video.

  • @muneebahmed01 Not very well at this stage I'm afraid. Apple really needs to figure out how to handle it better on multi-monitor systems.

  • What about the pill button for collapsing the toolbar and getting a single folder Finder window?

I really hope there's still a quick way to get this view without all the clutter since I'm using this a lot.

  • @phantrast Nope. The pill is gone even in apps that still have the button. (You notice how I can still click the invisible button in TextWrangler) It's like they just removed the image resources but not the functionality. Don't know WHY they removed it from the Finder since you can still use Command+Option+T to show/hide the toolbar or Command+Option+S for just the sidebar itself.

  • @phantrast i loved that feature, for image folders etc. all i needed was basically a space for everything to hang out. i didnt need finder

  • Lion is looking cool - nice job Apple..and thanks for creating the video too!

  • Comment removed

  • You've find so many new features! Good job!

  • this is a good one.

  • Where's the music from? I like it and would consider buying.

  • @MadDuck84 Pirates of the Caribbean movie :P

  • @MadDuck84

Pirates of the Caribbean - One Last Shot

Kung Fu Hustle - Fisherman's Song of the East China Sea

    Donnie Darko - Time Travel
