California is releasing thousands of developementally disabled and few nurses can handle severely autistic population! California families need GOOD cnas and lvns to help keep their children OUT of institutions.

Nursing is a creepy field in the U.S. Creepy to say the least. The typical duplicitous death care I mention in my video. Only the imported foreigners praise American health care because to them, it's a meal ticket. Creepy field, creepy nurses, and creepy system.
@PHANTOMSLAYER777 I am tired of talking to a foreigner who has what should be, "my fn job." I have nothing against these Filipinos, but they are a very different culture, and it is uncomfortable to be around people who can be hardly understood and are so different. They cry about the Mexicans, but what about our fn jobs.
@PHANTOMSLAYER777 I have seen nurses being fired for no reason and lay offs to cut expenses. Six months later they were crying nurse shortage. The hospitals are often subsidized to recruit from over seas. They sometimes pay the new recruits more than the home nurse to compete with richer nations. I suspect the government allotments offsets their expenses are created by administration departments .This was happening a while back
Nursing shortage my ASS! I have been putting in RN applications left and right. Nothing! Not even a call for an interview. I have 3 years experience as an LVN and still don't any calls. Yeah, shortage....sure, what a LIE!
Yea right! It is just an excuse to bring in more Asians at lower wages. I know, I work in this screwy business. Watch my video on health care. The nurses are mostly automatons, sheeple that think they are educated because they read some establishment textbooks on fake diseases.
My Girlfriend Just graduated from college last year with a Bachelor's in nursing and license and all ... She nailed her first interview for a pretty good job in one of America's most reputable children's hospital. CHOP... for everybody things are different . I was told by ppl about stuff i use to send off to immigration not getting back to me or if they do, they would take months.... hahahahaa... in 2 days i got a reply.... People dig personality, dont think your gonna get hired just like that
There is no such thing as a nursing shortage! Talk to new grads in metropolitan areas and ask them how many months/years they've been looking for a job!!! What nonsense. Seriously. Ask somebody.
Saying there's shortage for nursing is like saying Santa Claus is real!
It is true that there's no more job for nurse. I've been trying to find nursing job for months w/ my bachelor in nursing, RN license, BLS certification, and 2 yr Med/sur experience. Yes I am still unemployed.
This is a myth. I graduated from a highly ranked BSN program in a major city and I can not find work. If you are thinking about going to nursing school do not do it. It was a 35000 dollar mistake.
@phoenixbyrd2 No job. If you are seriously thinking of a career in health care do not go into nursing there is no shortage. I have a BSN from a top 50 program a prior degree and career in chemistry. I am going for my MSN on a part time basis and I plan on taking all 5 years to get it. I started out pre pharmacy and wish I never gave it up. If I had enough $ to last me 6 years I would try pharmacy again. If you are good at math and science go for pharmacy there will always be a shortage there.
i was going into nursing until i found out that i had to wipe someones else ass and my school goes base on GPA and i change my major to respiratory therapy because there is a wait list for 1 or 2 years and my sister in law is a respiratory therapist and she told me that i get just as much money as being a respiratory therapist than being a nurse and plus i don't have to wipe someones butt. (gross).
I would love to see obama support the immigration of nurses. Seeing him implement his healthcare reform would and promising quality healthcare would be great. Although his needs to also concentrate on how hospitals will staff for the influx of patients. It takes time to train new nurses, and many are retiring soon:)
In California there are 84 hospitals has been closed due to illegal immigrants entering the hospitals that needed health care. Ben Bernanked did not know that he lost 9 trillion dollars. There was a 700 billion dollar to bailed out financial institutions by Obama. In Iraq, the US has been funding approximately 1 Trillion dollar. The national debt is now 11 trillion. Obama is willing to fund the Crunky Clutters Cars lol for another 1 billion dollar, the proposed plan was 2 billion. No earmarks +D
Any president are Not the only responsible, neither Bush and Obama. It is done through voting Congress. But the majority of our representatives are sold out people. Bush or Obama cannot just load up a wasteful spending or money, they are voted by our representatives. Also, the Fed.Reserve Banks is not controlled by our president or congress, and was never audited. This is the sick problem why we are so much in debt-bed. The ways to eliminate is thru congressional voting to abolish the Fed.Banks!
Enough of hospital policy and procedures that try to dictate the practice of nursing. As nurses we are practitioners of the art and science of NURSING! Not "employees" of the hospital to be brushed aside with the attitude of "be happy you have a job."
Come on people. Let's stop ignoring the real issues. Nursing can be a rewarding fulfilling career.
That being said, I for one didn't sign up to do it for free. In other words, pay me. Pay me a wage that reflects the tremendous responsibility I have. Pay me for the knowledge and experience that I bring.
Enough of administration's lame excuses for shrinking benefits and ever shrinking pay scales and raises.
Enough of outrageous sign on bonuses for new grads and no retention bonuses.
Amazing the nursing shortage i graduated from a bcsn degree from canada worked in trauma and critical for two years and after that immigration deported me so anyone interested in hiring me let me know
I also heard that there's a shortage of doctors as well. Not just because the cost of going to medical school is exorbitant. But I also heard that doctors in this country spend most of their days dealing with HMO's, rather than performing the actual duties a doctor is required to do. But again, that's what I heard.
I start nursing school in Jan. 2009, and I'm finding it to be VERY expensive. If more hospital offered stipends and scholarships to offset the cost of school, more students may be willing to pursue nursing as a career. And maybe so many nursing students wouldn't drop out of nursing programs. It's just too expensive. Plus the patient overload is a MESS!!!!! But there's not much you can do about that being that the baby boomers are getting older.
You made the right choice - don't second guess yourself. Nursing is a rewarding and potentially profitable career. Do well in school and you'll have your pick of great jobs! I wish there were more people like you choosing Nursing.
Thanks for the kind words! I do enjoy helping and caring for others...I am just a little stress about the cost of the program and the fact that I am not a native English speaker..but I am also well aware that there's also a shortage of Bilingual-nurses in the USA. I'll try my hardest..if it doesn't turn out to be what I am expecting I'll probably move to Cuba and study medicine. :)
I truely think this is due to the hospital. Many times the patient to nurse ratio is insane but its cheaper for the hospital to not hire, if the floor just makes due.
Monitor tech. WHAT!! How does our CCU get that. ha ha We don't even have a secretary or a nursing assistant. Or a supervisor sometimes. GEEZ? I wonder why nurses are quitting? But, I bet the CEO's are getting paid real well.
Watch he rest of the videos in this series. It's a real eye-opener. We got some great interviews with retired nurses that weren't afraid to speak their minds.
There is no shortage. You are an idiot if you go for a BSN today
