  • did you know the beatles wrote the song for both Billy j kramer and Cilla Black

  • Great!!!!!

  • The instrumental on "Love of the Loved" remains a favorite of mine when it comes to placing an identity of UK music of the 1960's as it stand out among anything else say...from the US.

  • Brian Matthew is still on BBC Radio2 every Saturday

  • It's a shame about the time code at the top. But it's fantastic to see this. Thanks.

  • Billy J Krammer could double as Roger Moore 007

  • thank you ( portugal )

  • este programa es del 15 de diciembre del ´63.

grabado en Alpha Television Studios, en Birmingham.

un especial con grupos exclusivamente de liverpool.

  • This was the beginning of the immense British Invasion and all the incredible music that came of it for a decade.

  • @utubemusiccritic I adored this time-British Invasion ruled!

  • THE BEATLES................I wonder if Elvis layed with the Beatles

  • i think they did jam once??

  • Tommy Quickly for PM!

  • Looks like Cilla Black forgot to shave her armpits.

  • @Ianpbx LOL!! So true :)

  • I can remember watching these shows (aged 8 or 9). One the highlights of the week.

Those of you not in the UK may be interested to know that Brian Matthew still has a popular BBC radio show playing 60s music.

  • I wish it was like that now.

  • Before Cilla had her nose job!

  • Makes mine look minute - lol!

  • OH my Gawd am I REALLY that old, Fab Fab Fab!!

  • wow this is awesome where didy ou get this! You brought us back thru time!

  • Me too - when I was little, this show was the highlight of my Saturday night!

    Annie :)

  • None of this would ever have happened if not for Brian Epstein. Thank you forever, Eppy!

  • The scene at 1:09 is a great example of the power of Beatlemania. We will never see the likes of that again.

  • This pure gold. Thanks so much for these clips!

  • Have you noticed how everyone dressed up! Now they all dress down wearing Jeans that we used to wear to work! It's a sad world we live in now. Unless we change it!!

  • Exactly what I was talking about to a friend recently.I wore a suit in the local market last week here in San Diego, completely unheard of!I was stared at!!

Actually, the worst dressed people in the world are Americans, especially the women.

  • im an american and i wear ties everyday..people think im nuts...my good friends dont even seem to notice anymore

  • The hippie Era that started in 1967 is what made it uncool for band's to dress up & also people. It was thier way of rebelling against straight society i guess & now it's come to haunt us all with all this trashy unclean look we have in Bands & people today. To late to stop what weve started back in 1967. Shoukld have left it alone.
  • People today have no imgaination when it comes to fashion. Plus, schools and workplaces have relaxed dresscodes to the point of nonexistence, and parents don't bother to teach their children proper grooming, and the schools don't dare discipline a child for it, for fear of a lawsuit. It's not that good clothing costs too much - even jeans and graphic T-shirts are expensive. People would rather spend money on those than more dignified outfits. Even personal hygiene has gone out the window.

  • "I'll Keep You Satisfied": This song was written by Lennon/McCartney

  • Wonderful to see this show after reading about it in Beatles books for years. But wasn't the show called "Thank YOUR Lucky Stars"?

  • yeah, you're right. Corrected :)

  • Notice that the theme tune was You Are My Lucky Star.

  • Cilla Black singing her first released single, she is the best and still is,hope she releases something new soon!!!!! Love Cilla

  • It's fascinating to see Cilla Black at the threshold of her amazing career. When this was filmed, the Merseybeat was a new phenomenon. No one yet realised the impact it would have on pop music - and no one would have expected at that time that Cilla would emerge as the second biggest selling Mersey act and Britain's top selling female vocalist of the 60s with multiple top selling singles and albums to her credit. LOVE Cilla Black!!!
