  • If you want to catch the Jersey Devil just rig a snare with a pile of Ed Hardy clothing as bait.

  • The Blair Witch Project made me laugh my ass off first time I saw it witch was around Halloween a few years back. Now I see why my mom said it was shit. XDD

  • he should do a review on the blair witch project

  • he should review video nasties

  • @LemmePost ummm he did it was called top 10 tales from the crypt episodes, not to hard to miss.

  • Comment removed

  • Search for the new jersey devil? Just go to a hockey game in New Jersey.

  • I'm making a found footage sequel to the thing!! You should review it it comes out January 12th

  • @pucknut11 Will it be in cinemas? On youtube? What? :?

  • He should review Cloverfield

  • @zombiefan011 he did

  • He HAS to review Drag me To Hell

  • I live 20 minutes from the Pine barrens :D

  • Review some Tales from the Crypt. now that was the shit

  • @LemmePost He actually did.

  • lost boys james?

  • i liked the build up, but the pay-off was very disappointing. it felt like it turned into a completely different movie.

  • How many reviewers and genre fans have NO knowledge of their genre? Cannibal Holocaust "Started" the fad but even it was not first, just first to video. The reason it was banned is they really do kill the animals the way they do in the movie (Including a Sea Turtle)

  • Hmm I wonder if James should review a movie called cannibal holocaust.

  • Horror movie suggesting it's real i'll be right back...

    lights on-check

    Big ass knife-check

    suicide dynanite-check

    Chuck Norris's phone number(last resort)-check

  • I'd like to see James review the following, Rawhead Rex, Franken-Hooker and Mortuary.

  • I Think i shit my pants When is sou it

  • godamnit i watched the lost tapes jersey devil and FINNALY GOT IT OUT OF MY HEAD and now this -_- thanks james

  • The jersey devil: Snookie

  • THE JERSEY DEVIL DID IT!

  • Not trying to give away spoilers but the ending really killed the mood of the movie

  • what do you mean "pretending" to be real? muaahaahhahahaha

  • The Jersey Devil is basically the thestrals from Harry Potter.

  • Its not called the jersy devil its caled snooki

  • review "The Signal"!

  • this movie is pretty awesome, until the end, where it COMPLETELY ruins it self

  • marble hornets

  • blair witch ripped of cannibal holucasts style

  • Around 5 years ago, my parents bought me a book, called something like "how to deal with vampires" or so. It was a great book, not only for listing many facts about vampires and the history of them, but also mentioning the most important vampire movies. The one called the bloodiest was "From dusk till Dawn". Since then I thought: "Man, if I ever see this movie, I´ll be hardcore." Now I saw, James did a brief review on it, thought: "Hell yeah, finally!", and then -> flagged. Nothing more to say.

  • I was pissed after I found out that Blair Witch was not real & those college kids were alive (counting their money) w/interviews? I threw my copy out in the garbage! (I thought it was true?)

  • If you do a 2011 series, you should review Trick 'r Treat. I just saw it last night, and it was great. It reminded me a lot of a modern day Creepshow, with some impressive special effects and a sick sense of humor.

  • @AnObeseAardvark Yeah, that movie rules. In the two years since its public release, it's since become my traditional Halloween viewing. I notice something new each time I see it, and I'd love to hear James's thoughts on it, since he's clearly much more of a horror expert than I am.

Sadly, it doesn't look like he'll do it this year, since this year's Monster Madness will focus on the sequels to classic horror films.

  • It would be cool if James reviewed NEW horror movies (Insidious,Paranormal Activity) would be cool cause he can compare old and new :-)

  • Budget $900

    Box office $12,097

  • I wonder if James has heard of Marble Hornets . . .

  • i cant watch 3 episodes of monster madness because of stupid parentall controls(super angry face)

  • @dumbo7101

    Watch it on his website?

  • Please tell me what happened at the ending.

I don't have this movie and Netflix probably doesn't either.

  • am i the only one who thought blair witch was terrible?

  • James needs to review Blair Witch and Paranormal Activity next Monster Madness.

  • @LanceK17 PA sucked ass, just saying.

  • @LanceK17 but both those movies suck

  • @LanceK17 i was just thinking that blair is very creepy

  • @LanceK17 no. just... no.

  • @LanceK17 Blair Witch yes, but Paranormal activity not at all.

  • @LanceK17 both those movies are shitty

  • @LanceK17 Oh shut up! I'm with ya on blair witch, but Paranormal activity!? Come on!

  • @sporepics Hey dumb fuck. In my comment I never stated if they were good movies or not. I just want to hear James' opinion on them. Chill out.

  • @LanceK17 :) Can trolling be any easier on youtube?

  • @LanceK17 Yeah review Paranormal activity and show what a fucking pile of shit it is

  • @naaben3333 yeah, i agree with you to an extent. The characters were a lot more likeable in Blair Witch Project and the story setup was better than Paranormal activity, but Paranormal activity is one of the few movies that genuinely scared me the first time I seen it. The only movies that I find hard to watch alone at night with the lights off are Paranormal activity and The Exorcist.

  • @LanceK17

    TOTALLY agree ;)

  • @LanceK17

You mean those movies that everyone says are OMG SO SCARY even though nothing scary happened?

  • @RasecVonWizzlbang man, i saw the HISHE of blair witch project, and that scared me more than the movie!

  • @RasecVonWizzlbang If you have a wild imagination, those movies force you to come up with anything scarier than they could've shown you. Each time I see Blair Witch Project or Paranormal Activity I look at those movies a different way. Thats good film making. If they showed you the witch or the demon or whatever, it would never be as scary than what you imagined. I love those movies.

  • @LanceK17 Thanks for that statement. I love the concept of keeping the antagonist hidden for most of the scene.

That's the problem with remakes now is that the new generation of the demographic has no clue what the term "subtlety" means. Most other media throws it right in your face so all the nuances of the original work are lost.

  • @VanTX89 Right on man

  • @LanceK17 Paranormal Activity is like a little too recent, don't you think? If you haven't noticed, James is going back from the beginning all the way to the 90's

  • @Legoreviewer1000 He reviewed The Devil's Rejects which is a movie from 2005.

  • @LanceK17 or suspiria and 28 days later

  • @LanceK17 what about cloverfield?

  • @LanceK17 Yes to the 1st, hell no to the 2nd are you insane? Take your meds

  • @LanceK17 Those movies were shit I hope he does not.

  • thums up if you think at 1:25 the voice sound like egon from ghostbuster

  • This movie didn't influence Blair Witch, which was already done shooting when Last Broadcast came out.

And yes, the ending is pretty dumb. Of all the stupid twist endings I've seen, this is the stupidest. (And the movie was a double disappointment for me because I thought it was going to be about the frigging Jersey Devil!)

  • Blair witch project sucked ass.

  • @Lauren72753 it was truely awful

  • Wow, and I always thought "Blair Witch" was the first of its kind to be solely from a recording camera's point of view. Don't I feel dumb.

  • blair witch was pure suck!

  • The documentary horror flicks was based on the 1979 film cannibal holocaust .

  • Disappointing as hell, because they didn't use the names of any real locations; maybe it's only because I'm from the area that I know this, but I think that a great majority of folks who have heard of the Pine Barrens (real and mysterious) will know the real names of the towns and roads in and around the Pines. A little more research by the filmakers would have made this seem a lot more authentic. Laziness killed it.

  • They thought that there was a snookie monster

  • Just bought this DVD for 75 pence. Bitchin XD

  • he should review "Cannibal Holocaust"

  • @EvilAshPursuivant That name alone makes me cringe.

  • @EvilAshPursuivant That would absolutely rock. I love that movie!

  • those movies inspired the director who made "paranormal activity" and now this movie is suggested as the scariest movie of 2009. that's awesome. James review paranormal activity

  • Maybe a wild animal did it like a bear or a mountain lion. For all we know, it could've been a kinkajou...just sayin' >.>

  • James should review the descent.

  • paranormal i think was pretty cool but its rated R but i dont care cause i watched it with my mom

  • I just realised, MarbleHornets and the Blair Witch Project have alot in common.

  • The Blair witch chronicles was fuckin scary like when they find the torn off piece of clothing with the blood and teeth inside followed by screaming in the distance and the ending was pretty scary too

  • These to me are the best kind of horror films..the grainy last evidence of something horrifying that happen that no one can explain, where you only have the written testaments, stock footage, or camera shot negatives of what could have happened. If I had to choose a favorite KIND of horror movie it would be these right there.

  • It's like a documentary....FROM HELL!!!!

  • WOW! BROADCASTED FROM SATELITE??? WHO DOES THAT? NOWA DAYS EVERTHINGS 3D AND FITIONALIZED. U GOTTA LOVE THAT IDEA!

  • I'm not a fan of this one at all. The ending, in particular, was awful.

  • Paranormal Activity was nothing revolutionary, neither was it any good. I'm sorry, but it was boring and I knew when something was going to pop out every time. It had little plot and the ending was meaningless. What really irritates me is when people say that it's something different or that it's SO scary or how it's SO real. Movies today really suck, save a few.

  • @JPnintendofan Agree.. not to mention the "horror" in paranormal activity is really cheap its just a bunch of jump scares kinda like watchin those internet screamers with the face that pops out and the high pitch scream.. paranormal activity its just that ; hour and a half of screamers and yeah maybe it will scare you...but the way they scare you its just cheap, they build no tension, no story.. its low not only in budget but in evertything else goddamit!!

  • Paranormal Activity and Cloverfield are the most modern horror movies to use this style, Paranormal is good and Cloverfield is ok

  • HELL YEAH NEW JERSEY!

  • Some guy on youtube tried to reproduce this effect...and failed miserably

  • Cannibal Holocaust (1979) was the first horror movie to use the documentary format.

  • @KevsHardLemonade Provided that anyone had the guts to sit and watch the whole thing without covering thier eyes though or looking away. Now that is the only documentary style horror movie format to actually give us a gorey shock value. I wonder if James has a episode of that movie too?

  • @sillygrl23 He doesnt unfortunately but I'd love to see his take on it. Alot of these little kids on the internet never even heard of it let alone getting the chance to try and sit through it in fear and/or disgust.

  • I wish saw would be sorta like this

  • sorry james, I didn't like this movie, although I do think it has an awesome twist at the end. Love Blair Wtich though

  • I'm sure The Last Broadcast looks good though I would've prefered The Blair Witch Project, and I haven't seen them yet. However, Paranormal Activity did a great job making you think it's real even though it isn't! It's slow pacing and tension help make it effective.

  • I wanna see this.

  • first The Last Broadcast,

    then The Blair Witch Project,

    now The Fourth Kind

  • james should have paranormal activiy in monster madness in october

  • @brokena95 I agree! PA was scary.

  • @brokena95

He's doing shitty movies this year.

  • @DriveInTake yeah I know

  • @DriveInTake So it'll fit perfectly with it then lol

  • this movie was bunghole!!!

  • Wow... That was a piece of shit.

  • i think i prefere the blair witch project.

  • Just watched it on youtube. VERY VERY VERY well made. Very eery, very scary at moments. The ending was a bit out of place in my opinion, but that's how I saw it. Thank you James fior introducing this film too me and I'll recemond it to all of my friends.

  • Just watch this movie. On the youtube! YES! IT WAS AWESOME...and then the end broke the mood, But GREAT film besides that. :3

  • If you like movies like this one and blair witch .. then I recommend "behind the mask"..

  • I can hear your jeysey accent sometimes lol

  • this movie has a misterious atmosphere , and what it's also mysterious is a clip from the movie, a god damn song that doesn't exists, it's called barren eden performed by marionette eight, according to imdb, annyone knows it?

  • wow ive never even heard of The Last Broadcast before. but sure as hell heard of The Blair Witch Project_which is probably the most over rated film of all time.

  • I know this'll make me sound like a wuss, but this creeps me out because I live right next to the Pine Barrens XD

  • they have woods in new jersey?

  • @AcTNBumpChannel Yes they do.

  • This movie was SO scary, until the end. The end ruined it. It was one of the worst twists ever. Otherwise, it was so scary... they built mood and atmosphere really well

  • @YellowTurtle13 I know EXACTLY what you mean. I just watched this movie, mostly because of this review. the change in style is SO JARRING in that change I spent the whole last segment of this just confused, not scared.

At least when District 9 did something similar they made it believable and didn't disrupt the flow. If they where going to be all weird about it they should have started it as soon as documentary guy started his reenactment.

  • @kagemaru4836 This keeps building lol! Another person who felt the same. See now that you mention District 9, I don't remember it doing that. And that is what makes the flow not disturbed. As I said I just watched this movie yesterday on youtube, and let me say WOWWOWOW! until the end* There were parts where I was hiding my face because the music just FREAKED ME OUT! And even when the camera was jaggedly being pulled away by the same guy, OMG the hairs on my back stood up.

  • @TBSful is from Army Of Darkness

  • do they find the jersey devil???

  • who is that two headed dude in the beginning

  • @TBSful its just the intro its nothng special

    its not an actual movie

  • @SMOSHFAN1111 oh ok but it looked interesting

  • this movie freakd me out. the end could be better. the ending had more impact with a unknown murder.

  • Other late 90s horror to checkout: Ringu, Apt Pupil, Blair Witch Project (which came first Last Broadcast or this?), Audition and The Sixth Sense.

Early to mid 90s, nothing memorable.

  • @lucypunch You forgot Scream

  • @xsafa Yes, good point. as I comment on another cinnemassacre video, I forgot that was directed by Wes Craven.

  • I liked Broadcast, and didn't even know it existed until it came on IFC or Sundance one day. I didn't even know Blair Witch got the idea or premise from this one, and probably more ones.

Budget was even lower thats rad.

  • The twist at the end was incredible the first time you see it, but it loses it's power after that.

  • a++++++++++++

  • Great "review" James. Looking forward to Monster Madness 2010 :)

  • My sister knows about The Blair Witch Project, but has never heard of this movie.

  • the end of this movie was terrible

  • pretty unexpected though, i thought

  • @schmitty3 Watchu meen?

  • what happened

  • @schmitty3 On the dvd commentary one of the guys says that if you don't like the ending then you're not educated filmically

  • @Leatherbubba sounds like a bitter man trying to make people feel stupid just for not liking his movie.

  • @schmitty3 Yeah. I found it to be really funny. I like to tell people if they didn't like Transformers 2 then they are not educated filmically.

  • @schmitty3 I agree. It was because of this review that I watched the last broadcast and that was perhaps the biggest letdown I've ever had watching a movie

  • This is pretty much Blair Witch Project. It's the same thing. Ha. I bet they were pissed when Blair Witch became a huge success.

  • Then they got the last laugh when the sequel bombed at the box office.

  • after watching this video I wanted to see it and i could not find it anywhere and finly I found at blockbuster and it was really good its nothing like the blair witch project

  • i hopw he reviews blair witch in the next monster madness

  • @Mattfletch001 He Allredy Did It Was MONSTER MOVIE MADNESS #16 Wasin't It

  • @gerryf964 No he hasnt done it yet, thats why I said it

  • @Mattfletch001 you said BLAIR Wich appered in epidode 16

  • @gerryf964 No I said I hope they review blair witch in the next monster madness. They havent reviewed it yet

  • @Mattfletch001 Oh Ok But Blair Was In 16

  • @Mattfletch001 i fucking LOVED that movie

  • @Mattfletch001 and salems lot

    correct ?

  • @Mattfletch001

True!!! Blair witch is some amazing horror!!! Love it! :D

  • I'd never heard of it before, now I want to see it

  • I totally forgot about this movie lol. They did a good job with it, though it really didn't get the attention the other shows, like Blair Witch, recieved

  • If i remember correctly, Last Broadcast has a very realist suffocation near the end? using a plastic sheet?

  • can you please do videos about american werewolf in london, the blair witch project and the grudge?

  • i hope he reviews the blair witch project on the new monster madness

  • so do i that movie terrified me

  • thats just sad

  • i no the second just killed it for a true story

  • Shame tha this film seems to have been oveshadowed by the Blair Witch Project. I'd never heard of this film before this video, and it''s a real shame the film doesn't get the credit for the whole "amateur documentry" sub-genre of horror and that BWP gets credited for it instead.

  • You can't just be the first to try, you have to be the first to try and pull it off.

Same with comic book movies, there were lots of crap ones being made until the Superman movies actually pulled off a good one...then the credit and copies started to come.

  • Well according to James here it did pull it off, so I still say it's a shame.
