  • Someone gave me a 37 Stovebolt today for free, I am really hating this butt fugly pointy grill. Its really pissing me off. Staring at it, I'm about to the point where I want to hack the whole thing off and replace it with something that looks like a 33 Dodge grill. Nice fenders that flare out like a flower petal, with a gorgeous Model A looking grill. Seems like after 37, the grills started getting uglier and uglier, year after year.

  • Looks good. Wish I had the money. Buy it in a minute.

  • wonderful

  • ANY OFFERS?

  • Too bad the 216ci has been changed.

  • I know. Stupid previous owner. Current owner doesn't care, she just likes to drive it. I'm sure whoever she sells it to will at least put a Ford motor back in there.

  • @shawntdecker or a toyota engine.

  • @shawntdecker Ford motor? In a Chevrolet? It's usually the other way around.

  • Wow, 24,900. Two years ago.

  • why whould you ruin it with a ford motor too bad nice looking truck too

  • yes, it's a '39. I learned to drive on a '39 many years ago. VERY nice truck, thanks for the memories

  • It is a '39 as many people have said. But, it was purchased in '38 and registered as a '38. Owner still has the original financing paperwork.

  • Google: ALDO FLAQUER

  • Would Buy it --But a inbreeder had to

    Change Engines --and Auto Trans-?

  • NO DOUBT. The second owner put the 302/Auto in there. Ther current(3rd) owner is a female who likes the fact that it's VERY easy yo drive.

  • Amazing!

I am a hot rod fan but this truck is very cool!

    Congratulations.

  • this is a 1939 NOT a 1938. 1938 shared the same body design as well as the cab as the 37. The only difference was the grill. The 37 had stripes running the length of the grill and the 38 had stripes running the width. Also neither the 37 or 38 had a split windshield as they were able to crank out. This is a 39.

  • wow thats stunning whats the engine?

  • The original motor was a chevy 6 cylinder. It was replaced in the early 80's with a 302 and an automatic transmission. It is very easy to drive and runs/stops great.

  • has to b a 1939 cuz my dad is building my mom is building a 1938 chevorlet pickup and i also have a 1938 chevy truck to and they do not look like tht so it must be a 1939

  • hello shawn,im sorry but you"38" pickup is not a 38 i believe it is also a 39 first there is the two piece windshiel and the hood sides second along with afew other details that lead me to believe you have a 39 not 38.

  • I think that '39 was the first year with the two piece windshield. I have a '38 and it has the one piece windshield.

  • Cool truck! Correct me if I am wrong, but I think it is 1939 and not a 1938. Great job on the video and and thanks for posting.

  • The current owner believes it to be a 1938, which is also the year on the original bill of sale and owner's manual. Why do you think it might be a '39?

  • it's taller in the grill than a 38... but then again back then titles were not necessary and computers did not exist.

  • Cool!
