The Indigo Girls have been there for me most of my adult life .....they with out ever meeting me have seen me through times of love , heartache, seeking inner peace ......they are a gift from God ......I know this to be true.
I discovered this song while sitting in Olga's waiting on my food, and this came on the station they were playing. I took down the words on the back of an old receipt, looked up the lyrics for the song title later on, and fell in love again.
By far, old souls write the most spiritual, most meaningful music. Both Emily and Amy have this gift from their Creator... and they most beautifully share it with us.
@merlinarose Why assume that they are together? This is the problem, sexual assumptions are always made regarding lesbian music groups. Enjoy the music! We do! I hope you are too *peace*
Xcmike1 - you have a lot of catching up to do. They have helped me through many tough times and challenges in life with their philosophical songs about love, peace and caring for the common man. Peace be with you and all. . .
i've been a fan of the Indigo Girls ever since they released their self-titled album with "Closer to Fine" in the late 80s. Amy Ray and Emily Saliers are two rock solid good people, whose songs of love, peace, and kindness should be required listening for everyone.
I was in the 7th or 8th grade. Nearly 20 years ago. It was like the sky opened up and mana rained down from the heavens! They have been my musical home ever since! No matter what I listen to, it always comes back to Amy and Emily.
oh my god I love this song it make me feel extremely happy.. the words are so meaningful and so upbeat.. love the IG.. should have listened to them long ago... :)
The overall quality of IG is greater than the sum of its parts. No one should underestimate Amy's contribution, and incredible stage presence. With that in mind, Emily should be considered one of the best song writers of the decade. In the spirit of Joni Mitchell, her lyrics are just beautiful.
Three people have NO taste in Music.

Amy and Emily, you don't have to wait any longer.
"Yes, you want her
Look at her, you know you do
Possible she wants you too
There is one way to ask her
It don't take a word
Not a single word
Go on and kiss the girl"
Just do it!

I don't remember being alive and not knowing who they are. Sometimes parents give gifts without knowing.
