Can I ask why in the world is everyone referencing Pat Robertson? He's not even on this video nor is this about him...seriously I'm confused and why take away from such a beautiful video?
@crazyguitarchick06 I guess you missed the news several days ago where Pat Robertson made the statement indicating that if a marriage partner developed Altzheimers, he thought it was OK for the spouse that did not have Altzheimers to divorce the Altzheimers spouse and (divorce) "move on" with another person. Thats what everyone was referencing.
The most grievous thing that came out of this charlatan's mouth was "If you respect those vows". Shame. "For this cause the name of Christ is blasphemed among the Gentiles" Romans 2:24.
@reginaDexant The Above comment was made at Pat Robertson's remarks that you could divorce your spouse If they had Alzheimer's NOT at this precious saint.
It sounded like what Robertson was actually saying was "Dude, don't cheat on her- if you're not up to taking care of her, and you want some sweet, sweet lovin', at least have the decency to make sure she's taken care of, and then divorce her."
Which is not exactly noble, but is better than the situation as presented in the letter from the viewer.
Wonderful video. Please lay off Pat Robertson though. I don't know all the details... but I do know this.... Pat Robertson has done so much more than so many.... to help share the love of God, to help heal hurting souls, to support Israel and so much more.
@ReformedFundy - so by saying what I commented was "absolute garbage" you're saying Pat Robertson hasn't done alot of good for people in the name of Christ and that we shouldn't pray for him? He's in his eighties now.... he HAS done so much good for so so many.... CBN has been around fifty years now and it's been such a blessing. Please pray for him instead of vilifying him. Correction in love is fine.... but also pray and forgive. Why crush?
@ReformedFundy - He has done much good. So much. If you are a Christian then we shall agree to disagree. No need for argument or anger. The Word shows that we are human and even those that have followed Christ have certainly not been perfect. But you and I do disagree on the heart of Pat Robertson. I can agree to disagree. Blessings
Brought to my attention by a close friend. This short video exhibits the meaning of Marital Vows taken in the Spiritual, as well as in the "Social" sense, the latter of which we see a near 3:1 failure rate because of the lack of the former. As The Man said,".. he is a man of his word...". How many, these days, can say that without a smattering of guilt.? The Love expressed here is obvious, as is the Unity of a Devoted Marraige.
Yes, this is a truly impressive expression of one person's ability to bond with & care for another but I don't see this as 'how God intended marriage to be". Only the simple truth of our human capasity to love another. I know many people with no professed connection to any version of God who also demonstrate this wonderous human facility. I prefer to think of it as the best expression of human love.
I remember when Mrs. McQuilken was at the early stages. She was a delight on her good days! I feel blessed to have shared a few brief moments with her and President McQuilken. Thank you for the shing example of your life!
Brilliant. Very rare nowadays- people would argue he was not self-actualized and all that garbage. Good for him- I wish there were millions more like him around this country.
I sat in the student center and listened to Robertson McQuilken tell us this story of his love for his wife. I was stunned. This the kind of love I wanted to share with my wife.
I know this man. I used to preach in the church he attended, and he would bring Muriel with him to church each week.
He is a man of his word, never seeking recognition for doing something extraordinary, but expecting that others should do the same because it seems to make so much sense. May my life make as much sense as I seek to live true to my vows.
Can someone post a link to the pat robertson statement? I have not heard of this and am really interested to know more!

What a Beautiful love. Robertson McQuilken provides a True North by which the rest of us can set our moral compass when facing such issues.

He's a human being. He's also often misquoted. So please... if you believe he has erred... please pray for him.

@goodplans4you That's absolute garbage. Remember the words of Paul, who withstood Peter when Peter erred.

@goodplans4you He's a false teacher and preacher. He hasn't done good, he has erred greatly. He has not done good, he has done harm.

THIS is what advice Pat Robertson should have given to "Andreas"'s friend when he wrote the 700 club. Shame on you Pat Robertson!!!

I loved this book.... if only there were zillions more men (and women) who could love honor and cherish someone as Robertson did Muriel.

I lost my wife a month ago after caring for her for two months. Every day I wish she was still here to take care of.

May his life serve as an example of faithfulness to us all.
And btw - his name is Robertson McQuilkin. And his book on bible study, Understanding and Applying the Bible, is phenomenal.
