When watching youtube videos,I run facebook book open on another tab. It's just their in the background if a friend wants to talk to me. And if i want to check something on facebook I click on that tab. But im spending most of my computing time on youtube. I myself am a film buff and I love television so youtube is like a dream to me due to the excessive amount of content. I also love making videos,it's my passion. Youtube is a better community.
facebook videos are gone now and theres no way i can find to view videos on the new facebook so if anyone knows how to view videos from before the layout change reply to this comment
I want a macbook, but i want a reliable one that is not like the macbook air which looks like it could be destroyed in a 5 inch fall...and i don't think it has a disc port....i just want to point something else out...youtube....is awesome...uses email, videos, no instant messaging, but that gets annoying
Honestly, I've never actually watched any video on any facebook page...you can't even search for videos on FB, I don't know what's the point of comparing...
Facebook is exclusively just a time waster and communication tool, while on Youtube besides watching retarded stuff, you can actually learn something, like from video tutorials on various topics etc.. There's lot's of valuable content on YT...
So there's no point comparing the two, let facebook be facebook, and let youtube be youtube.
no because youtube is for videos and facebook is a socail network i dont think channels like this one or game and car review channels will go to facebook
facebook is geared toward updates on a persons life and pictures, not video. You Tube has such a huge video fan base that it would be nearly impossible for Facebook to overtake You Tube in video being uploaded per/minute. The only realistic way I can see it happening is Google either selling You Tube to someone who shuts it down, or Google pulling the plug itself. I see neither happening in the near future. In the far future though, no one can predict what will happen.
@famouswolfy I took a looke at them and they look like shit, and people don't got any reason to start using any other video sharing websites... Everything is on youtube...
we all know that facebook won't replace youtube because we all know that google (the company that controls youtube now) will buy facebook from mark zuckerberg
@punkrockgoth1988 I know! i really don't see the appeal of facebook! if i go on facebook i feel like a stalker. When I go on youtube i'm just a normal viewer. because people on facebook don't put that stuff up for EVERY friend to see, yet it's on your frontpage! haha anyway that's enough fb ranting for now haha
I do not see Youtube.com going anywhere any time soon, however I can not say the same thing for facebook. Facebook is a trend and with this new controversial movie coming out flaming on facebook "from what i understand" i hope it makes more people stop useing facebook. I think facebook is a retarded cash cow.
YT suddenly stopped allowing us to "share" to FB as an option. Whassup with that? Now I have to manually copy/paste the link on FB and it works, but I preferred just clicking on "Share" and then clicking the FB icon. I googled this to see why the change but haven't' found anything. Whassup?
This is back to the best for Chris Pirillo - I'm not into iphone or Apple so that's excluded me from being interested in many video's of late. I know most things have been covered, but I'm a stickler for these type of vids...
Facebook is a social network and YouTube is a video site people like you who compare the 2 pisses me off because you make the idiot youtube design staff put stupid facebook and twitter features no one wants because they forget this is a video site and not a social network
Great points, Chris. I see Facebook becoming more powerful in reaching targeted audiences with video marketing down the road. Right now, Youtube is good for hosting videos and getting them found via passive search and keywords. But, when Facebook really fleshes out it's video capabilities, the audiences will be so segmented with Fan Pages and Applications data, that reaching audiences and customers with video content might be easier on FB. But for now, Youtube is king.
@RCallahan592 No. Just get a bit of mastering in so there aren't so many audio spikes when he gets excited. Just boosting the DB will only hurt people's ears.
@mauiboynokaoi Oh its just that out of all my subscriptions Chris has by far the quietest videos. With all the background noise in my dorm I can barely hear sometimes from my mbp speakers.
I can't believe I watched this... This question seems like something someone would come up with just to say something that sounds like it has substance or just to troll. Myspace would have been a more logical question, but the truth is not many casual browsers get on myspace anymore, It's like a college during Christmas.
Chris, theres a programe called inbetweeners (UK) and u look like the main character (and share some attributes e.g Geeky but is probably fun to hang out with =D)
I agree. Facebook is privacy focused, they have no interest in allowing users to publish for the full world to see. It's for sharing within a confined personal network. YouTube is meant, designed and marketed to broadcast to the world.
im sorry if i ever said anything mean towards you! i think i never did but when i first started YouTube and subscribing to ppl i was a complete asshole! so im sorry for if i did or even if i didn't!
HECK no! It serves a way different type of audience than YouTube does. I only use Facebook video for video that I recorded at events with my friends and family, which I also use YouTube for sometimes too. Plus, I also do agree with Beltaidan saying that the videos there taking forever to buffer. It's totally true. With YouTube, granted you have a good enough connection speed, the videos will load way faster.
I'm actually starting to regret Facebook, or rather having my identity locked to Facebook. I only have a handful of pictures that I wouldn't have necessarily posted myself, so it's not entirely about that. Don't get me wrong, there are fantastic things about Facebook and I'm probably not getting rid of my account anytime soon, but if I could go back I would have probably registered using a different name.
That being said, it will be interesting to see if FB gets usurped by something else.
It's not used for the most "ask chris" videos... because all he does is waiting for a call, or a question in the chat, answer it, and then look for new ones..
no need to say e ya later after every single answer.
Oh No way they are completely different, youtube is for directors who are just starting out in the world of filming or professionals like you who want to get noticed more for what they do! Facebook is more for socializing. Talking to friends, you know. And it's for relationships anyway!!! :-) I think that's a very interesting question though! I would never un-subscribe to you! Its more personal for many people on Facebook and impossible for them to anonymously troll, wine, hate, or complain.
On Youtube they could easily get a dupe account and do all of the above.
