I think anberlin is a christian band because some of them are christians but they dont sing christian influencing songs. I think you can call them a christian band just because of that. If you dont get my point. Here it is. Anberlin is a christian band because the band itself is christian because. I dont think the songs have to be christian too. It goes both ways.

Bands specifically referred as "christian bands" r done so because they often sing n preach about christian beliefs, philosohphies etc, not because the members are all christian. There is a distinct difference. The members r also all american, u dont go around continually calling them an american band. More to the point you dont go around calling bands where all members have agnostic beliefs an agnostic band. The members are christian big deal, the band isnt.

Yes all their members are christian, and yes their lyrics have a definite influence from christianity. I'm not saying you're wrong in any way infact, but if you want to get technical they're not christian rock.

They simply don't see their music as falling into Christian rock, therefore they're not.

Stephen, Nate, Joey and Deon were all Christians for a good part of their lives, even way before NTFP was written. Christian himself is jewish but he didn't partake in the creation of anything but New Surrender. But despite the faith of 4 members it didn't make the band a christian band at all, that was a misinterpretation by Tooth and Nail records. They are a band, an amazing band at that but not a Christian band. Despite you can see God's influence on their lives in their music. :)

No sorry. But they aren't a christian band, and I don't need to do more research. Do you know what Modesty Writers Guild is? That is Stephen Christian the lead singer of Anberlin's blog. Yes, it is actually his and has been his since 2003. Now he has mentioned MULTIPLE times not only there but in interviews that Anberlin is not a Christian band.

I don't want to cause any lame youtube fights, but I stand by what I said prior and it's not me that is in severe need of research.

They said themselves they don't preach their faith, they just express how it effects their everyday lives. Most people twist songs that are about something to something that applies to their life, anyways. I do, certainly. We relate to music in reponse to our moods and our situations more of the time.

I'm an Anberlin fan, and I still remain an atheist. I see it as a window looking into another life, but the religious life still doesn't appeal to me.

You can't say they're not when they CLEARLY are, and profess to be.

They ARE mostly christian. Minus Christian himself. As personal faith, they believe in God. And you have to understand that whatever influences them in their life will resurface into the lyrics but not exactly in the band.

And I have seen interviews where Stephen states it's a very common misconception that they are a Chrisitian band. SaGoh 24/7 was, but Anberline is not.
