Hey thanks for the review!! I bought this knife off of your recommendation. Great value with this one! The only thing with this is hunting. Gutting a deer with this is pretty hard, and pheasants are next to impossible. But, then again- that's not what is was made for. Still an AWESOME knife, especially for the value!!! if you are wearing lbe with a belt loop system you can attach the plastic loop on top of the knife to the belt loop of the lbe vest and also have it on your web belt. this will make it rock solid and not let it move at all.

Interesting. I guess Ka-Bar has come a long ways over the last 20 years. I bought a ka-bar so called survival knife about 20 years ago which had the hollow handle for putting things like fishing tackle etc etc. silly knife, and shody quality, but I was a young man and those were the fad at that time. It was mostly a novelty item but they probably sold a lot. When I saw nutnfancy's reviews on here and saw Ka-bar I knew I had seen that brand name before! lol. might buy the large bowie.

ka bar has some issues, I own many ka bar knifes all fixed blades. not all but most have sharpness issues, where there is different sharpness on different part of the blade, CS doesnt have that issue but ka bar knifes are cheaper so I cant complain, just need to get a 20 degree knife sharpener

well kabar also makes next generation version which also uses 440 steel but its 440A and its also heat treated, without heat treatment 440A and 440B is junk. they are cheap metal but its made with stainless steel so its good for moist and damped environment so its needed in the military and also its good for people who knows nothing about knifes. its super stainless and No need to oil

well, if you never owned a ka bar knife get a new one first and you will know how to differ from fakes, if a fixed blade is under $45 its fake. you will also need to learn how to sharpen them. kabar knifes are tough but doesn't hold an edge, and need to be sharpened regularly. I have knife sharpening addiction!!!
