People her mother should not have to say please. She is the adult Jenevive is the child. She is telling her to eat not asking her. thats how it should be done. Parents rule the child not the other way around. She should, however, encourage her child to learn the word please if she hasn't already. Saying please to Jenevive isn't going to make a difference.
i think her momma is trying. My nephew is autistic and babysitting him all the time is hard because he wont eat. and shes not screaming at her to sit down. shes her child she doesnt have to say please every two secs.
First of all, she doesn't seem autistic enough to not eat her food, second, you should give her something that tastes good, besides, that's just like Ramen, they both look disgusting.
I have an autistic son and this is a very common problem with mealtime. It can be so challenging at times when you want to give your child a nutritious diet and they refuse to eat anything you put in front of them.
it seems as though everyone has an opinion indicating this type of reinforcement is a poor parenting decision. It is a type of ABA child management called a Response Cost System, and is extremely effective. Once behavioral standards are met, there is a negative reinforcer (in this case, removal of a self-stim object) that is enacted when undesirable behavior occurs.
In many autistic children, positive reinforcers (such as saying "please") have no effect due to undeveloped social cues.
Maybe try feeding small amounts of a variety of foods. The portion may be intimidating or she may eat something she is less thrilled about if she is already eating something she likes
That is not how to interact with a child who is already frustrated. You're response is a response for a normal child not an autistic child. Although I have no doubt that you indeed love your child, you most certainly need to research the best way to help her perform daily tasks such as eating. I hope that you are able to learn her style of communication.
Damn you people are stupid if she doesent like it and she's atistic she NOT gonna eat it and talking something away they do like is gonna get you no where and she's gonna get mad everytime she has to eat! I'm the same damn way so I can say this and know what the hell I'm talking about! And I have every right to say it like this!
Do you full understand autism? The video says not. This isn't working with a child with autism. They don't understand that they must eat first before they get something thet want. Ofcourse she get upset, you take something that she likes away!
Tell her she'll get it back when she's eaten, set up some sort of reward system. I have been diagnosed with PDD NOS, though they discovered it's actually ADD I have, I still have some autistic traits including needing everything to be safe. So I can understand her desire to have that object. Try to have it near while she eats, and tell her she'll get it when she finishes. Start with little meals of 2 mins to eventually full ones. If she really wants to hold it, then that's the way it is.
This looks so hard. I can even imagine having to deal with a child like this. I hope you know to ignore all the ridiculous/unhelpful comments people leave here. I'm sure you're doing the very best any parent could do. God bless x
@et2598 Sorry, everyone is responsible for what they say. You can - and should - get fired from a job for even jokingly saying "I'm going to kill you", or making threats when you get angry at someone. The climate these days is you never know what people are capable of, or what their intentions really are. I don't know for sure that you aren't a 40 year old guy linked to a terrorist organization. I need to make sure that I'm safe.
@ampikine Ah, see, you're not going to be any fun, considering you're not a 13 year old pissant crying and hiding in his room because he thinks I'm sending the FBI over. Sorry.
@ampikine Not you. Read the comments below ours. Some little twerp who claimed to have a sexy wife at 30, and be autistic, "threatened" me and then I told him the feds were coming because of his terrorist comments, and he believed me. LOLs abounded.
@servingthealiens reminds me of this time some kid told me he was gonna hack youtube, get my IP, hunt me down and kill my whole family. I gave him a link to a dummy site (which logged his IP) then ran a whois on it and found out the city he was in. I sent him a message and at the bottom I said "BTW hows the weather in *city*?" and the kid freaked out and started apologising and pleading with me so I wouldn't come to his house and kill him lol. I tried to explain that having someones IP doesn't
mean you can find their address, it just means you can find out where their ISP, nothing more but he didn't seem to believe me, he genuinely thought I had his address and was coming for him.
@et2598 I've saved a screenshot of this conversation, as well as contacted YouTube and the local authorities. Hope you enjoy federal prison over a stupid YouTube video. Threats of terrorism don't go over very well these days.
@et2598 No, actually, I'm not. I think it's funny how someone with a disability that makes them stupid and unable to communicate is trying to tell me I can't. You clearly don't understand anything, and I'd love to see a picture of his "sexy" wife of yours. Suppose she's not bad, considering what mail order brides from Slovakia USUALLY look like. And without her beard, I imagine she's stunning.
@et2598 Wow you egotistical FUCK! Your message is going to show me who I truly am? Wow. Just... wow. Also, you tool, it was my CAT'S 11th birthday. The toy he has was his present. Fuckingmoron.avi
@et2598 As we all know, your worth in the world and as a person is directly related to how much money you make. I would put MY money that you're a lonely, sad, empty person who buys thing after thing after thing, hoping THIS thing will make you happy.
this cute girl is not as bad as some of these nutty boys with autism on here on youtube i really believe boys are far worst than girls boys act like monkeys for some reason and im a guy but i never acted like some or most of these weird kids now a days what kind of shots are our childern being given in the hospitals at birth? it really makes you wonder dont it?
i think you make the meal time really stressful for your child. maybe if you were to add a bit of joyfulness in it, or stop being so severe, everything would go better for your little girl.
Hi! i hope I'm not crossing any boundaries here, but I think you should try a different approach. The children i've worked () with responded very well to the following: a strict meal program, eat with your child, don't push him/her, give him space, avoid the word NO (use YES, you will get it LATER), focus on the good things that he/she does (like trying to use the spoon) and encourage the child. A lot. Good luck. You have an amazing little girl, don't lose hope.
My little boy has autism and we have a easier time with finger foods like carrot sticks , pizza slices and sandwiches and veges and fruits he can eat with his hands. Also eating at the same time everyday and in the same routine keeps him happy.
Hippocratic oath= I swear by Apollo the healer & take witness to all other gods that I will NEVER EVER harm anyone in practice of medicine.. Now- where's the baby in 4 healthy baby visit? Hush little baby, don't U cry, Doc's gona inject U with formaldehyde. If that poison don't keep U sick, Doc's gona try another trick.. @anynamethatworks13 Well, beings that can't or won't feed themselves die and don't pass on their shitty genetics to make even more shitty kids or animals... although, in this case, I'm having a hard time telling the difference.
Hippocratic oath= I swear by Apollo the healer & take witness to all other gods that I will NEVER EVER hurt anyone in practice of medicine.. Now- where's the baby in 4 healthy baby visit? @SickOfKnowItAlls For one: You don't FILM your daughter and put it on the INTERNET, You put her on the chair the right way, take away those foamy things and FEED her. This is just bad parenting: HELP her out, not just film her how she isn't doing something.
@YourComputerExpert I cannot believe you are complaining about the positioning of the child's chair. Firstly, she did take the foam away and secondly, have you ever lived with one of these kids day in, day out? Your patience, morale, finances, everything starts to wear thin. You are underslept, overwhelmed and quite frankly can't possibly see how you are going to get through another fifty years of doing what you are with your sanity intact. Now lets see how important chair positioning really is.
@SickOfKnowItAlls ARE you ACTUALLY CALLING AUTISM A BRAIN DAMAGE? OH MY GOD YOU ARE SICK!!!!! AUTISM IS JUST ANOTHER VIEW AT LIFE, NOT A BRAIN DAMAGE!
@YourComputerExpert Yes, I am. When your child's birth was so bad it should have resulted in an emergency caeser & you end up with a baby who has a cone shaped head and doesn't function in later years, it's pretty much brain damage. When your kid is diagnosed by mental health professionals as being in the bottom 1% intellectually of society, that's probably the point where you think, my child's brain does not function. Aspergers, another point of view yes. Trauma induced autism, nope.
@SickOfKnowItAlls But the child on this video doesn't look like she has trauma induced autism, because that was what I was talking about, then you started talking about your own child all the sudden, and still, I don't think you should talk like this about your daughter, the number one question is: Do you love her?
@YourComputerExpert How do you know whether she has trauma induced autism? It looks exactly the same as autism. Do I love my child? (I can't believe you asked me this). I am talking about her "disability" - which has just as much relevance as her "ability" - however, I have a whole page dedicated to her artistic ability to celebrate that, whereas I summarised this in less than 400 words. *finishes reeling in shock at such an inane question*
@YourComputerExpert Also, I have a point of reference with which to refer when it comes to a child with autism. Surely it was clear from my earliest questions to you that I have a child with this condition. I reserve the right to make comparisons and draw from my experiences. Why aren't I allowed to speak about my child that way? Why do I have to sugar coat the fact that, although beautiful, loveable and loved, this is indeed a severely brain injured child.
@YourComputerExpert Imagine you have a child with autism. Why do you think someone like me would be searching for videos about other children who also have autism? Can you see ways it would be helpful for me? What do you think I'm hoping to achieve when I watch these videos? What do you think would be a helpful video for someone like me, who wants to give her child a better life?
@SickOfKnowItAlls To give your child a better life you just need to love her and treat her like a normal kid. Believe me or not, I have very much experience in life and one of the things I learnt is that people with autism (bad or not) always want to get loved and always want to get treated like a normal child. I know it's very hard for you to have a child with special needs, but don't forget to love him/her.
@SickOfKnowItAlls Well I was just saying that because alot of parents are soo obsessed with the fact him/her child has autism, that they actually forget to love their child.
I'd try a white board, draw or write Eat food, and maybe she can understand that better. I know for a fact that a good amount of kids with autism are more visual learners, and most can't learn when just talked to. I would also agree that removing the distracting toys will help. I worked with a lot of people with autism and white boards work really well, or a schedule of pictures.
This is just my opinion as someone on the spectrum. Use it if you find it useful, ignore it if you don't, and you won't offend me either way. Having the toy where she can see it is making it harder for her, rather than easier for her, to focus on eating. When she sees you taking it away, she isn't going to be able to pay attention to her food. That is because it is more sensorily fascinating (for lack of a better word) than the food, due to the bright color and unusual texture. If you only allo-
wed her to have food at the table, she may focus on that, and start to play with it and hyperfocus on it (including looking at it closely, smelling it, then tasting it and repeating that as she eats it). Like I said, if you find it useful, cool. If you don't, you are welcome to ignore it, and you won't offend me either way. Peace.
Referring to the comments that @whatthefukisthis has posted. But I guess with a name like that, it doesn't surprise me. Absolutely disgusting. That's what's wrong with this world, way too much ignorance. Never judge until you've been there. Very sad person you are.
@ireneleal17 I'm part autistic I hope this can help you a little here's some tips for autisum they have a function that there brain pauses then parts of the times they can controll their body most of the time they can't controll the body some part of the time they have to focus on 1 thing or part of the time they will get freaked out when there innurupted so don't force them they need to concentrait on 1 thing first when there done they might able to listen so I hope this helped :)
next time is she wants to get up and wonder try have a fist and then board and point to it. And try tucking in her chair. Where i work we have pecs they are pictures
Autism is about having a pure heart and being very sensitive… It is about finding a way to survive in an overwhelming, confusing world… It is about developing differently, in a different pace and with different leaps.
You are a very courageous and strong person to be able to handle this. I know from experience how hard autistic people can be to deal with. I wish you all the best! And don t forget to take care of yourself..!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
What kind of a con job is this? The kid simply doesn't want to eat. She's just a bratty kid, nothing more, nothing less. So what... now you put this phony label on her so you can some bullshit government help?????? I DON'T THINK SO!!! This "austim" bullshit is nothing but a BIG SCAM!!!
@brajac1000 Sorry, do you mean the comment I'm replying to? I sincerely hope so. If not, you are severely disillusioned and should use your brain before your fingers hit the keyboard.
As a mum of 3 kids on the autism spectrum, I sometimes wish us humans didnt need to eat at all. In our house, meal times are done in rounds, and its so time consuming that lunch runs into dinner runs into supper etc. Im so exhausted from the whole process that I often go without eating myself.
@AnCailinRua73 My daughter has ASD also.Getting her to eat is like a battle.I will offer her foods all day. Having her take bites here and there,is a victory. There were foods that she liked, but now no longer does. I've taken her to restaurants with all you can eat buffets, thinking that with the large variety of foods, she would see SOMETHING that she liked. She goes to a special education pre-school and she
eats yogurt ,cookies and pretzels,THERE but not at home. It's frustrating.
My lil one politely refuses also. Since at the time she is interested in tapping say, take a bite then you can tap. What u did was similar but not specific enough for an ASP. "Eat 1 bite then u get to tap".
My son is the same that i could hand him a trash can n he'll put all his fav toys in it, so for those who don't know threats don't work.
We will be trying the Gluten diet next.
Good luck! n i trully envey your patience! u should be very proud of how your handling this.
This is what autism looks like? are they sure she is? I mean I was waaayyy worse than this and did more of that "tapping" and funny hand stuff than this kid and I'm definitely not autistic...
i've lived this. Trust me, it gets even more challenging when there are dietary restrictions too. We used to stress about the fact that our autistic son would only eat popcorn, morning noon and night. We have had some epic arguments and meltdowns at the good old dinner table. We eventually committed to supplimentation and now the stress is less severe. We can approach food in a relaxed way.
I think you are trying to be patient with her. I know the challenge. My son has a hard time sitting at the table and eating. I practice using "First and then" all day long. First we eat and then we watch thomas. First we get dressed then we play. Its exhausting some days. Using pictures to show what is happening helped my son as well. Now I can just say it to him. Also, he has to first clean up his toys and then eat. No distractions that way. Every child is different.
she handles stuff taken away better than some childern they have a complete tantrum ......running out the door, yelling, screaming, crying, bitting, hitting, and ect
my autistic daughter will eat nothing but baby food. Her therapist in school try to get her to eat normal textures, but no success yet. It is one of the biggest issues we cant seem to resolve
my sons autistic and he doesnt eat either he would only eat weetabix and no food at all he would go weeks with no food i dont understand it and its very very hard, just dont understand why autistic kids dont eat :/
@19dvon for my son, it's texture, temp. even colour that turns him off. SUPPLIMENT at least you can rest easy. If you have ever looked into the gf/cf diet, it also explains why children become obsessed with one particular food. The opiates given off during the breakdown of gluten pass the brain barrier...so children get a high and why would you ever want to eat something else? Once we committed to the diet for a long time, he started to explore other foods-thank the Lord.
@19dvon what is weetabix? is it a bread? I heard Gluten is highly addictive and that is why your child may only want to eat that specific thing. Its kinda scary my son only eats 7 things but i heard that as gluten slowly leaves the body they will become interested in other food. Lets keep our fingers crossed. Oh ps half of the things he ate contained gluten. Fish stick, crackers, tortillas n waffles. So it'll only be rice, nuts and bananas for a while.
I had immense eating problems when I was very young and had to be fed artificially for some time to make it trough. Try to find out which bits she likes and give her those. Offer food as often as possible and don't mix anything or mush it up. My mum repeated "eat, eat" endlessly and this discouraged me even more from eating. That I survived is solely due to her immense patience, perseverance and love, I believe. Nowadays I can eat quite normally
I have to laugh at all the genius wise ass advice people are giving in response to this video. Until you have walked a mile in the shoes of a mother with an autistic child you should shut the hell up. I'm sure everything suggested in the comments has already been tried. Well done you mom, its tough going and if she eats anything than you have done your job well.
At least she is at the dinner table. My son won"t even get close to it. Feeding for us is a nightmare-he is so texturally sensitive that he will only eat three things.
I used to be like this when I was a kid. All I ate until I was 8 years old was Bar S Hot Dogs and Mac + Cheese. I used to have servere Autism but now I don't. My parents or my care provider would tell me to eat if I don't when I was a kid until I got a little older.
@TheGreatBenjamin714 Well your autism was caused by either a viral insult to your brain like a Vaccine or a toxic insult like a vaccine or a physical insult like head trauma....But this wave of autism in children across the USA is in direct correlation to schools mandating vaccines for enrollment......you better start to figure this out because my son was a victim hours after his 4 month vaccines and he has suffered now 15 years ! thanks to killers of children like Richard T Clark CEO of Merck !
My Son is Autistic as well and i completely understand.. HIs therapist would tell me to persuade him like you take a bit you can have it back.. You do for ,me i give to you. I had another child a year ago and it helps using bubba as way to get him to eat and try things, like bubbas turn, ok now its Blakes turn.. he likes having the turn.. P.S. People that dont have and autistic child DO NOT understand their behavior, and im still learning and my son is..
@kaylaawbrey My son is mostly healed from his Autism against all odds....thanks to research and amino acids like taurine.......and marine beta carotine.......our diagnosis was multi focal seizure disorder and possible retardation at 3 months.....with a short life span....today he is a normal boy and 15years old we fought back with alternative vitamins....and therapies and won
u made a big mistake as ide say with any child you let her have the object back the first one you took to shes clever once she nos she can get it back without eating any of the food you have to not do this again she won its like going in the babies room when it crys 4 nothing it will cry all night try taking the plate what would she do? or say u can have your dinner when u give me that shes very intelligent i think all autistic kids are cleverer then us lol
i find with any child they dont like special plates and if you tried the food youre self and made it more fun she may respond my sons not autistic but he was a right pain when a little one with food i used to make up games try aeroplanes and pretending its a train then acting really happy when she eats i no its hard hun but maybe this will help you im also defiantly not judging you hun shes beautiful by the way can i have her lol
Don't worry about all the people who comment on stupid things like 'the tone of your voice'. Clearly they don't know that a restricted diet and avoidance of certain foods was once a diagnostic criteria for autism. It is very tough feeding an autistic child, and the only thing I can suggest is food of one consistency plain or dry food, finger food which is not slimy and also crunchy foods and seperate them into categories and the same type of food for every meal.
My son, age 33 now, still carries an object. He sleeps with it and never lets it from his sight. The toy is a plastic canteen, and it calms him and seems to give comfort. As a young child, he carried 5-6 books, toy cars were always in his pockets and he never allowed his hands to be empty. He has Down syndrome and autism, and no speech.
perhaps she dont want to eat what a cold voice of a mother go to classes all about Autism I have a son 12years old with Autism and if he dont want to eat he will later... sensory toys lights music in the room helps except your child has a beutifull mind..
@mayor2692 There is nothing wrong with the tone of voive, it needs to be clear and direct so the child now what is exspected,
It was realy good saying eat first, it might be a idea to say eat first then u can have the toy. also have u tried visual clues, pictures to back up what you are asking.
@ATReade My opinion didnt like the tone on her voice like talking to a dog!!! what if the child had enough of the food and did not want any more , Ive got some with Autism I say more he says no, you have got to learn them at the table find the mother very cold,,,
Try 2 separate the food. The sausage & potatoes on an extra place or plate, find out what kind of NOs. she like. Odd-NOs. or even NO. & then gave her by that NOs. pieces of food. But good that U always call her to eat.
My son who has Asperger's Syndrome would constantly tap the face of my watch and continually flush the toilet over and over and over...My heart goes out to you.
Autism rose 200 % after childhood vaccine programs were mandated in the USA fact ! Autism in the USA is for the most part a childhood adverse reaction to Vaccines...Fact ! my child had a severe reaction to his MMR and has been autistic ever since....the Vaccine Manufactures know this and created these Vaccines as part of a attack on the people of the USA...we are being poisoned and our children weakened so as the elite emerge as the superior race ! FACT ! this is Genetics ! THE NWO ARE COWARDS !
Have you considered the "First, Then" method? Show her a picture of a food or a person eating labeled as "first" and another picture of her stimming toy labeled as "then" - try it!
Medical marijuana stimulates food intake and concentration.... I've read many articles of parents feed their autisic children very low doses of medical cannabis in cupcakes or brownies and having tremendous success with both food and communication.... Say what you will. The proof is in the pudding...
Have you thought about OT? My son is autistic and wont eat much most food he gags on he also has Sensory Integration Disorder. The ot is helping slowly... It may not be that she doesn't want to eat, but the food bothers her mouth. You know your daughter best so... But it may be something you would at least like to do a 10min google search about.
im autistic and i've never liked food.. i didn't eat much at all when i was little ._. and i still dont like food very much..there are just some dishes that i like.
Have you used a countdown board? velcro strip with five tokens and a picture of the toy at the end. She takes five bites and gets the toy. Use a visual timer to limit the time with the toy and reset the tokens. When she doesn't eat, show her the token board and say, "four more bites, then toy." Start with two bites so it is easy. Also start with the highest preference toy you can think of. Put the toy out of sight when she is eating. Forgive me if you already have a system in place.
This kind of reminds me of myself when I get a burger or a chicken sandwich. I always ask for them to be plain-and-dry, but I always add ketchup to them from packets I get them. I will not eat it if it is not plain-and-dry, even if I haven't eaten in two or three days.
NostaljiRuzgari, have you ever tried pursuading an autistic child to sit at a table & eat? until then, you shouldn't judge, The,"burnt" toast is better than nothing,if she likes it, so whats the problem? .The average non-autistic child has likes & dislikes and will refuses to eat. Its a whole lot more difficult getting a special needs child to eat...
@muscatbea i am very sorry if i missunderstand by you:( i have child with autism myself my concern was burnt tost in the future will give him health problem ,i was sad thats why i said it,,i know it is very hard to pursuade child with autism to eat is very hard, and i am fully supporting all the children in the world with autism hope they will find cure for it in near future,my best wishes to all...xx
my son has this condition, he refuses to eat somtimes, i just tell him in a very strict voice "if you dont eat i will eat it" then he just chews it all up
She sounds autistic, duh. You can tell how she was playing with that litte toy in the beggining. just tapping it, touching it, feeling it, thats what autstic children so.
@XxChrissetteWuvsUxX The noises she made when the toy was taken off her are characteristic of autism, I still make noises like that when I'm frustrated at my family (not outside the home though) or at my computer
The cause is vaccines. They will tell you anything and everything to cover this up. Take your child to a chiropractor, a doctor who isnt bound by the disgusting medical system to continuing doing this to kids.
Wow i think your lucky my son Thomas is 11 and has severe autism, he only eats burnt toast and wont even sit at the table ..he always has to have a Vtech type toy with him ...
@missangie29 Hi,I can understand it is so hard to feed autistic children, but please don;t let him eat burnt tost,it will harm him ..it is not healty at all..sorry:(
Hi, I'm very sorry to hear your son has severe autism. I am the father of a 3 year old autistic girl. Please do not believe everything your doctor says, like toast would not harm him. Most of these kids have what they call a leaky gut sendrome, so bread and milk is VERY harmful to them -as most are addictive to these types of foods.
Glad to hear. Just seen a few of Thomas' videos, beautiful boy, God bless. I also like the tshirt you got for him, been thinking of making a similar one my girl. Can't help but notice other parents judging us, talking behind our backs. They just don't know...
Stimming with cannibis: even with no attention span for work, taste buds come alive and eating is less of a chore. I wonder if anorexics do the stimming at mealtime too. Seems cannibis could help a lot of people. The stimming might then appear to be more contemplative, and the rocking in a less agitated state.
i have autism son.he dosnt talk but he loves hes nintendo ds lite. i wish der was a way to make dem normal. i dnt c any future for them :( god bless all autism.
@tajinbd There is a future for autistic children, what about that young man whose parents were once told he would need to be in a institution when he was older? He's in an institution now, an institution of higher learning that is, got accepted to every collage he applied to
Oh and that 'god bless all autism' crap? I don't need your prayers

Do you full understand autism? The video says not. This isn't working with a child with autism. They don't understand that they must eat first before they get something thet want. Ofcourse she get upset, you take something that she likes away!
Brummetje6 3 months ago
Tell her she'll get it back when she's eaten, set up some sort of reward system. I have been diagnosed with PDD NOS, though they discovered it's actually ADD I have, I still have some autistic traits including needing everything to be safe. So I can understand her desire to have that object. Try to have it near while she eats, and tell her she'll get it when she finishes. Start with little meals of 2 mins to eventually full ones. If she really wants to hold it, then that's the way it is.

@servingthealiens reminds me of this time some kid told me he was gonna hack youtube, get my IP, hunt me down and kill my whole family. I gave him a link to a dummy site (which logged his IP) then ran a whois on it and found out the city he was in. I sent him a message and at the bottom I said "BTW hows the weather in *city*?" and the kid freaked out and started apologising and pleading with me so I wouldn't come to his house and kill him lol. zarehara 4 months ago 18
Hi! i hope I'm not crossing any boundaries here, but I think you should try a different approach.

YourComputerExpert 6 months ago
@YourComputerExpert Why don't you stick with what you know, which is computers and computer games, and leave the adult stuff up to us.
SickOfKnowItAlls 6 months ago
@SickOfKnowItAlls For one: You don't FILM your daughter and put it on the INTERNET, You put her on the chair the right way, take away those foamy things and FEED her. This is just bad parenting: HELP her out, not just film her how she isn't doing something.
YourComputerExpert 6 months ago
@YourComputerExpert I cannot believe you are complaining about the positioning of the child's chair. Firstly, she did take the foam away and secondly, have you ever lived with one of these kids day in, day out? Your patience, morale, finances, everything starts to wear thin. You are underslept, overwhelmed and quite frankly can't possibly see how you are going to get through another fifty years of doing what you are with your sanity intact. Now lets see how important chair positioning really is.
SickOfKnowItAlls 6 months ago
@YourComputerExpert Again, are you a parent? Are you a parent of a child with brain damage?
SickOfKnowItAlls 6 months ago
@SickOfKnowItAlls ARE you ACTUALLY CALLING AUTISM A BRAIN DAMAGE? OH MY GOD YOU ARE SICK!!!!! AUTISM IS JUST ANOTHER VIEW AT LIFE, NOT A BRAIN DAMAGE!
YourComputerExpert 6 months ago
@YourComputerExpert Yes, I am. When your child's birth was so bad it should have resulted in an emergency caeser & you end up with a baby who has a cone shaped head and doesn't function in later years, it's pretty much brain damage. When your kid is diagnosed by mental health professionals as being in the bottom 1% intellectually of society, that's probably the point where you think, my child's brain does not function. Aspergers, another point of view yes. Trauma induced autism, nope.
SickOfKnowItAlls 6 months ago
@SickOfKnowItAlls But the child on this video doesn't look like she has trauma induced autism, because that was what I was talking about, then you started talking about your own child all the sudden, and still, I don't think you should talk like this about your daughter, the number one question is: Do you love her?
YourComputerExpert 6 months ago
@YourComputerExpert How do you know whether she has trauma induced autism? It looks exactly the same as autism. Do I love my child? (I can't believe you asked me this). I am talking about her "disability" - which has just as much relevance as her "ability" - however, I have a whole page dedicated to her artistic ability to celebrate that, whereas I summarised this in less than 400 words. *finishes reeling in shock at such an inane question*
SickOfKnowItAlls 6 months ago
@YourComputerExpert Also, I have a point of reference with which to refer when it comes to a child with autism. Surely it was clear from my earliest questions to you that I have a child with this condition. I reserve the right to make comparisons and draw from my experiences. Why aren't I allowed to speak about my child that way? Why do I have to sugar coat the fact that, although beautiful, loveable and loved, this is indeed a severely brain injured child.
SickOfKnowItAlls 6 months ago
@YourComputerExpert Imagine you have a child with autism. Why do you think someone like me would be searching for videos about other children who also have autism? Can you see ways it would be helpful for me? What do you think I'm hoping to achieve when I watch these videos? What do you think would be a helpful video for someone like me, who wants to give her child a better life?
SickOfKnowItAlls 6 months ago
@SickOfKnowItAlls To give your child a better life you just need to love her and treat her like a normal kid. Believe me or not, I have very much experience in life and one of the things I learnt is that people with autism (bad or not) always want to get loved and always want to get treated like a normal child. I know it's very hard for you to have a child with special needs, but don't forget to love him/her.
YourComputerExpert 6 months ago
@YourComputerExpert I promise you I won't ever forget to love her. Any other suggestions?
SickOfKnowItAlls 6 months ago
@SickOfKnowItAlls Well I was just saying that because alot of parents are soo obsessed with the fact him/her child has autism, that they actually forget to love their child.
YourComputerExpert 6 months ago
@YourComputerExpert Well MOST of the time this child is very sweet and loveable, except maybe in the shops or at bed time.
SickOfKnowItAlls 6 months ago
I'd try a white board, draw or write Eat food, and maybe she can understand that better. I know for a fact that a good amount of kids with autism are more visual learners, and most can't learn when just talked to. I would also agree that removing the distracting toys will help. I worked with a lot of people with autism and white boards work really well, or a schedule of pictures.
Falconhawk123 6 months ago

Peace.

i've lived this.
MRguitarman8 10 months ago
I think you are trying to be patient with her. I know the challenge. My son has a hard time sitting at the table and eating. I practice using "First and then" all day long. First we eat and then we watch thomas. First we get dressed then we play. Its exhausting some days. Using pictures to show what is happening helped my son as well. Now I can just say it to him. Also, he has to first clean up his toys and then eat. No distractions that way. Every child is different.

19dvon 11 months ago
@19dvon for my son, it's texture, temp. even colour that turns him off. SUPPLIMENT at least you can rest easy. If you have ever looked into the gf/cf diet, it also explains why children become obsessed with one particular food. The opiates given off during the breakdown of gluten pass the brain barrier...so children get a high and why would you ever want to eat something else? Once we committed to the diet for a long time, he started to explore other foods-thank the Lord.
MRguitarman8 10 months ago
@19dvon what is weetabix? is it a bread? I heard Gluten is highly addictive and that is why your child may only want to eat that specific thing. Its kinda scary my son only eats 7 things but i heard that as gluten slowly leaves the body they will become interested in other food. Lets keep our fingers crossed. Oh ps half of the things he ate contained gluten. Fish stick, crackers, tortillas n waffles. So it'll only be rice, nuts and bananas for a while.
poobalicious 10 months ago
I had immense eating problems when I was very young and had to be fed artificially for some time to make it trough. Try to find out which bits she likes and give her those. Offer food as often as possible and don't mix anything or mush it up. My mum repeated "eat, eat" endlessly and this discouraged me even more from eating. That I survived is solely due to her immense patience, perseverance and love, I believe. Nowadays I can eat quite normally

Forgive me if you already have a system in place.

i feel sad cuz she has autism! she doesnt seem so

What seems autistic to you?
LadyWeasel 1 year ago
What I mean to say is, what do you think autism looks like?
LadyWeasel 1 year ago
@XxChrissetteWuvsUxX yea alot of people say that, doesnt change the fact that she, or anyone else has autism though.
gamiezion 1 year ago
She sounds autistic, duh. You can tell how she was playing with that litte toy in the beggining. just tapping it, touching it, feeling it, thats what autstic children so.
MultiKitty11 1 year ago 15
@XxChrissetteWuvsUxX The noises she made when the toy was taken off her are characteristic of autism, I still make noises like that when I'm frustrated at my family (not outside the home though) or at my computer

striper991 2 years ago
@rbcrazyriderrb Calling a child like her a 'retard' proves who the retard really is, hint - it's not the child in the video
PKBitchGirl 1 year ago
@PKBitchGirl If you honestly think im retarted and confront that to me then you are doing the same thing I did,but we both know who is retarted
rbcrazyriderrb 1 year ago
@rbcrazyriderrb Says the person who can't even spell RETARDED properly

The cause is vaccines. They will tell you anything and everything to cover this up. Take your child to a chiropractor, a doctor who isnt bound by the disgusting medical system to continuing doing this to kids.

@missangie29
IstanbulRider 1 year ago
@IstanbulRider He's 12 now and in good health we have tried so many things although he eats the toast still its not burnt anymore !

@missangie29
Glad to hear. Just seen a few of Thomas' videos, beautiful boy, God bless. I also like the tshirt you got for him, been thinking of making a similar one my girl. Can't help but notice other parents judging us, talking behind our backs. They just don't know...

I love scrambled eggs and
fried B-O-L-O-G-N-A myself.
Cannibis might stimulate her appetite.

I see a future for my son he has a family that love him ..you shouldn't think that way
Normal ..what is normal !
missangie29 2 years ago
@tajinbd There is a future for autistic children, what about that young man whose parents were once told he would need to be in a institution when he was older? He's in an institution now, an institution of higher learning that is, got accepted to every collage he applied to
Oh and that 'god bless all autism' crap? I don't need your prayers
