Not to be stubborn but your horse cantered fine, I know when I used to rise to the canter, but one of my most helpful tips was to prettend their was a $100 note under your bum, you want to lean back into the saddle, this will keep your hose slower, more controlled and more confident (I know you may be a much better rider now and you didnt ask fo it but thought i could pass the knowledge my friends gave me)
@oliveisgreen Yeah I was there from when I was 10 till I will 16 so six years :) I was in saddleclub as well. Myer and Jed were my fav's I have my own horse now in Denmead and I also have lessons/compete at Lavant House Stables over in Chi
Oh cool :) That was only my third time riding properly and they put me on Jacob?! Lol.
I was at Fort Widley for 3 years, it was ok but I didn't feel like I was getting anywhere much, so I done that assessment at a better riding school in Titchfield :) I'm thinking of loaning a pony in Denmead though, are there many places like that there?
@oliveisgreen Yeah - it was good for me, as in to learn the basics like walk, trot, canter, jump then I got to riders/mediums and never really improved for about two years plus the horses couldn't really jump so It was a waste of money really. Yeah there are lots of yards in Denmead and very good hacking around aswell :)
@bridlelessgirl Because if the horse decided he wanted to gallop around the school, she would be able to stop him. lol! Cuz he is so strong and foward-going.
That really wasn't that bad, the first time i cantered. My foot fell out of the styrrup and i fell off :)

That looked like a brilliant canter :) Forward going at least!

I wouldn't say out of control canter, all you gotta work on is keeping your heels down and moving more with his movement.
