I used to like the PS3.... until I found out that the blu ray disc reader messes up after a year to a year and a half, sometime AFTER the warranty expires. Which is great cause I love to pay 150 dollar fees for something that I payed 500 for to last for a long time! You rock Sony! Even Microsoft has the balls to repair their issues, such as the red ring of death, with no charge.

I only wish I was bullshitting. I worked my ass off to look for a 60 GB model. Man I used that for everything, PS1, PS2, PS3 games, Blu ray, dvd, and even for web browsing. I loved that thing. I freaked out when it stopped reading discs. So what do I, I go to Sony for some comfort and reassurance, only to find out that 60 GB models arent under warranty anymore. They even told me that it was blu ray driver malfunction. So this is how they treat their big buyers, by giving me a 150 dollar fine?

Ignore all the retards responding to you. They are pretty much wrong. There is nothing wrong with the 60GB Ps3, and disc drives for ALL formats have and will always wear out with extreme use.

If you call up sony, which is 1800-345-SONY im pretty sure, they'll send you a refurbished 60GB PS3 - or replace your drive. They pay shipping too. It only took mine about 5 days in total. I dropped it though.... completely smashed it. XD Yeah. My bad.

But anyway. Give'em a call. Its worth it.
